One Great Camera Just received my Sony DVD305 a few days ago and am extremely satisfied. I have put this camera through the ringers, from Black and White, to Sepia, to Still Images, to Super Night Shots and I firmly believe this is the best camcorder I've ever owned! I was particularly impressed with the small size, yet the image stablizer really controls any shaking. The still images are fantastic for a 1 Mega Pixel camera.
You cannot go wrong with this camera, not to mention it was over $150.00 ...

Looked at them all - picked this one. I bought the DCR-DVD305 after using a Hi8 Camcorder for a few years and a VHS Camcorder for many years before that. Does exactly what we wanted it to do Purchased this product in August and three days later got on a plane for a family vacation in Mexico.
The thing that became apparent straight out the box is the ease of use of this camera..despite the rather daunting manual that comes with the machine. We wanted a DVD based machine for the ease of shooting and straight into the PC without the use of cables and this machine couldn't be easier to use.

Sony DCR-DVD305 1MP DVD Handycam - Working great This is a very good DVD Camcorder. I have decided to go for DVD-305 instead of 205 just because it has USB connectivity where you can transfer your recordings to a PC/Laptop for editing. You can also use your camcorder as a DVD writer by connecting to USB port. This camcorder is really great if you are looking for mid budget camcorder.

Excellent Picture Quality and Less than 4 mins to burn to DVD This is the best dvd handycam i have seen these days. easy to use, great picture with good sound , the easiest part of this dvd camcoder is it takes 4 mins to finalize the mini dvd and lessthan 10 mins to copy over to other DVDs.

Just Got It I wasn't planning on buying it already, but I had a few margarita's for lunch. Came home with it, and was quite pleased. It worked out of the box!
When my kids came home, we played with it. Low light, full light, it was set for the widescreen, which looks funny on the tv, so I have to set it for the smaller screen I have. That's ok. The widescreen may look better on my computer monitor, so I will withhold judgement here.

Not the best choice I received this camcorder as a Christmas gift from my husband. I was ecstatic as I'd been wanting a digital camcorder.
Out of the box, it was pretty easy to figure out how to use, especially because my old camcorder was a Sony hi-8. The controls were pretty intuitive to get started for a "point and shoot" scenario. The touch screen controls were fairly easy to use, but I was concerned with how the screen would hold up over time.

grainy picture but easy to use Lots of features and easy to use but you get a "grainy" picture. I would buy the next model up the next time, the DVD-DCR 405 with 3 mega pixels.

Buy this Camcorder!!!! I did my research on this camcorder. I checked around all the Targets, Walmarts, Best Buys etc, learned about all the different camcorders and what they do and dont do. This camcorder is AWESOME!!!! If you want a great camcorder with a camera on it also, with the ease of a DVD this is the camera for you. I was originally going to buy the sony 205 but Amazons price for the 305 was Targets for the 205. So, I have the 305 and love it. The Carl Z lens is great. The clarity of the recording is great....
