Best Camera on the market I was torn between several cameras but the Nikon is the best.
One thing that is overrated in cameras is the megapixels, they are just used as a marketing tool; anything over 5mp is fine for almost all photographers. What really matters is the shutters, lens, and properties. Here are some pros and cons of the camera:

shutter and focus problems -- After much research on the S6, I decided to give the S6 a shot. The main features that attracted me were the large LCD screen, ease of use of the menu, and its light weight. The wireless feature was really a ho-hum.
After the purchase the LCD screen lived up to its billing, but without an additional glass eye-piece, the glare in bright daylight was quite concerning. It was difficult to see the picture and determine if flash would be necessary. You need flash in bright sunny cond...

Excellent Camera I bought this camera around the beginning of July and have used it several times already. I've upgrade from a Nikon Coolpix 3200 to this one due to smaller, sleaker size and more megapixels. This camera takes excellent pictures, in broad daylight as well as in the dark. Red eye reduction is wonderful, however the flash does go off about 4 or 5 times. It's not broken... it's supposed to do that for everybody who thinks their camera has a glitch. Canon user recommends the Nikon CoolPix S6 It was time to upgrade my 2.0 MP Canon PowerShot S200 which is more than three years old (ancient in a digital world) to a camera which takes higher quality pictures. The newer Canon cameras had a larger screen, but it was basically the same camera. After a month, I am still pleased that I purchased the Nikon CoolPix S6:

I love this camera I have no clue what people complaining about this camera are talking about. S6 is a great camera. It takes excelent photos and has tons of cool features. I use a 2Gb SD Mem for taking pictures and movie clips. And I never had any memory problem what so ever (even by taking tons of long movie clips). I push Easy Transfer button time to time and leting it to transfer everything in memory to my computer (in my web photo album). Bad focus problems, random flash, needs new firmware I bought an S6 just before my trip to Disneyworld. Excited as anyone would be, I took a bunch of shots outside my house and then looked at them. Not only were most of the pictures out of focus, but the flash would come on when in full zoom in broad daylight. I chalked it up to a defective camera and exchanged it for another at Best Buy. Not good, not bad I bought this camera on Amazon and had it for a week now. I don't know if this is a problem because I have not had many cameras to compare it to, but the flash comes on broad daylight. The pictures appear a level darker than it should be. Because the flash comes on on broadday light, I try to turn off the flash but the red hand (blur warning) keeps appearing to notify me that the picture will be blurry. My coolness went way up after I bought this camera This camera is awesome! It offers everything it says it will offer. Cool features, sleek body, don't talk back, that's way I like my women and cameras (ha ha just kidding). Overall it takes great pictures, which is what it really comes down to. The bad reviews are just from Cannon users who most likely don't even own the camera so pay no attention. I prefer Nikon, they make professional products for consumers at fair prices. Very Good Digital Camera but defective When I received My coolpix S6 I really liked the features and I could not wait to use it on my vacation. After a week the Coolpix S6 just stoped focusing. The LCD screen just turned black. Sent the camera 2 weeks ago still no response from Nikon. Good Camera but reliability is a problem. Would recommend extended warrenty.

not bad but not awesome The best part of this camera is the wifi capability. The picture quality is decent as long as vivid color mode is there. The flash is a bit strong in my opinion so better pictures are found with the slow sync flash. If you're willing to tweak the settings, you'll get some great pictures, but don't expect great thing straight out of the box. Also if nikon can get a firmware fix for the bad blur, this would be a much better camera
