Easy to set up but overall performance is just ok.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?) This is an N band router so it will not improve your speed if you have a computer on wireless G band. My RangeMax WNDR3300 came with the Wireless N adapter in the box since it was a gift from Amazon Vine program. I have also tried the Linksys WRT160N Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Broadband Router recently, which is a little cheaper than this router so I was able to compare the results.

Setup - Setup wa...

Didn't Need To Go This Route

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?) I have two PS3s that both wirelessly connect to a Linksys Wireless-G router. One of the PS3s connects with 100% signal and I'm lucky to get a 50% signal on the other.

So when presented with the opportunity to acquire a NETGEAR RANGEMAX DUAL BAND WIRELESS-N ROUTER WNDR3300, I was thrilled to give it a run. Unfortunately, for my purposes, the WNDR3300 did not meet my expectations.

Now that'...

Nice but not perfect

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?) Presently we use a Linksys WRT54G 802.11G wireless router so when we got the Netgear box I was jazzed. I really hadn't heard much about Wireless-N but since it promises speeds that are up to 15X faster than Wireless-G with up to 10x more coverage, I had to try it.

Hook-up to the main PC was a breeze. You followed the steps on the screen and you were off and running. As other reviewers stated, you h...

An excellent router

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?) I'd been using a wireless G router system with built in speed boost and was largely happy with download speeds. However, I had noticed several quirks in the way the system was set-up, ones that I was able to work around but never conquer. These problems interfered with file sharing on the network as well as using a printer across the network, a nuisance, surely. By setting up a new network, I was able to elimi...

Connected to internet quickly.... but few other qualities

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?) I will start off with a positive - once I was able to get the Rangemax working I was able to attain impressive speeds on the internet. Unfortunately - This is only one aspects that the Rangemax shows any promise.

First of all - the support software that is included only runs on Windows. All of us Mac users must figure out on our own that the only hope that we have is to call 1-888-netgear and talk...

Power & Security

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?) First the security issue. If you have an early wireless router, you have an open invitation for anyone to ride down the street with their laptop, and tap into your network. With the Rangemax, those days are long gone. With a double firewall, and encryption for users within the network, wireless becomes a "secure" environment. (Not that there is any such thing as a secure environment on the internet, and even w...

Good with Firmware Update

Tech Level: high
Ownership: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: The range is pretty good (although not the best). The router Administration is really nice and pretty simple with a lot of options.

Cons: The pre-loaded firmware is terrible. It caused dropped connections. After a firmware update it worked perfect.

Other Thoughts: As others have mentioned you cannot run N on both the 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz at the same time. I don...

Linksys User Goes Netgear!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?) I used to be an avid Linksys user (why, I'm not sure because I've had so much bad luck with their pre-Cisco routers), but hadn't been wireless in almost a year. I have a desktop and a non-used laptop, and the Linksys (G) was holding up traffic, so to say, with my connection. So it was faster running direct to the modem.

Just a week ago, I got a job with Eye-Fi Technical Support and was about ready...

good router

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?) This seems to be a good router, I won't know how dependable or durability for some time, but it appears to work well now.
I am very much a beginner when it somes to routers and networking so I did some research, printed out the manual (which I think should have been included in the package) I tried to figure out the security stuff which I find very confusing? Why can't they give a step by step directions ...

Good so far, depending on your hardware...

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?) I've now had this router installed for about 24 hours. Signal consistent within that time frame. Set up fairly easy, though likely not so intuitive for a newbie, and may be a little easier for someone making a first time network install, rather replacing a prior one. Perhaps my confusion was because of familiarity with the LinkSys setup system and different terminology and process. The Netgear system utility i...
