"It just works", not. I was prepared to love the nano. It certainly is typical Apple product design - elegant, beautiful and stylish -- and it would be perfect except for two very annoying software/firmware issues, and Apple's apparent lack of interest in addressing the first problem. If it were not for these two problems, I'd give the nano 4 1/2 stars. Maybe 5 stars.

Good product for the money. For the type of engineering savy that went into this (very) small device it surely performs up to standards, so you won't go wrong. Would also recommend similar MP3 players like, "SanDisk" or "Samsung" to do a comparable job. It's really YOUR educated choice about what products to buy, not some tech geek who gets his jollies off of blogging nit-pick reviews in hopes that other consumers would think he is of the superior intellect. Excellent New Product I was shocked at the size of this thing. I was afraid that I would break it at first, but after a few clumsy moves it has proven itself durable. I would recomend getting a cover of some sort as soon as possible to protect the screen. The video screen has a crisp, vivid picture. The video player is limited in the types of video that can be played. I had to download a video converter to put any of my movies on it, which takes a lot of time, but was worth it. If you never had one...this is wonderful and perfect I've never owned a portable mp3 player. They used to be too expensive and I really don't need a 60-80G player when I already have a portable hard drive and laptop to lug around my projects.
