Definitely not perfect
 
Just received the 23" Samsung (white) for my kitchen. First issue I have is with the stand - how in the world could they make a TV stand that doesn't allow you to tilt or rotate the TV while on its base. If I had known that you couldn't do that I wouldn't have bought it. The image is mediocre - nothing really special - may be due to the channels (non-digital). This also causes a problem with the Captions - you can't increase their size unless they are digital channels - whatever the reason is...

Vanity Realized
 
Okay, I admit that this buy was motivated by my desire to have a kitchen TV to match my new all white appliances (the old tv was gun metal). And it looks beautiful! I uncrated it upside down, didn't realize it, didn't see the manual, but I put the stand on, plugged the cords in, put batteries in the remote, turned it on and wa-la! away it went, searched all channels, deleted the scrambled ones, I figured out how to set the time zone and time. great image, annoying features
 
Looking at it in the store, it's impressive. Using it every day can be irritating.

Gripes include:

The screen comes on exactly 9 seconds after hitting the power button.

It makes a very loud series of chimes and beeps turning it on and off - it will wake someone sleeping next to you.

Setup is a bit confusing, getting it to recognize all available channels is not easy, unless you use a cable box.

It's a good tv for the bathroom or...

Great TV
 
I love this tv. The picture quality is excellent. It is a great looking TV and it takes up very little space. Perfect TV for my bedroom. I recently (April 2008) added an HD DVD player in the bedroom and the picture quality is amazing. This tv is only 720p however, it delivers fine picture quality. It also has 2 HDMI ports and a port for a pc. At this time, (June 2008) the main drawback would be that it is not 1080p and it is a 60hz tv. Televisions with 1080p and are also 120hz, are now c...
