Nice but very fragile I got one of these for the holidays last year (12/06) and I was totally stoked. This was my first iPod--what a shame that it turned out to be such a fragile, poorly engineered device. I mean, this thing got dropped once from about 2.5 feet (it was only 2 months old) and it was TOAST (and it was in a plastic hardshell case!). I have had Laptops that survived worse. Come to think of it, I've had a lot of (far cheaper) devices that are better able to take abuse than this $400 item--including TV rem...

You won't regret it Previously I owned a 1st Gen iPod Shuffle and a Sandisk m230 mp3 player. Both were great, but I was wanting something more. Both of my flash-based players have 512MB of RAM. Finally gave in to buying one.... I always told myself and friends that I'd never buy an official MP3 player until they made one large enough to hold my collection. I already had a phone that played MP3's, as well as a PSP....what would I need another device for? Well, out comes the 80gb iPod. This thing is amazing! The Best iPod Yet! This is the fourth iPod I have owned, and by far the best. I bought this one for several reasons, one to replace my 6gb iPod mini, that could only hold a fraction of my music library, and because of its video capabilities. I travel a lot, and I knew this would be perfect for those long plane trips.
