Works perfectly No great mystery here. You have an ADC port on your Mac, and you have a DVI input monitor, then this is what you need. In my case, a PowerMac G5 with ATI Radeon 9600 (oem) video card and an LCD monitor with DVI input. I plugged this adapter into my PowerMac's ADC port and into a DVI monitor cable (that came with my monitor, hoooked it to my LCD monitor, and *poof* instant connection. No fuss, no muss. Dual DVI Goodness I use a PowerMac G5 with a Radeon 9600XT with, of course, a DVI and ADC port. For a while I had my monitor hooked up to the DVI output and was happy as can be. Recently, I bought an HDTV to hook my Xbox 360 up to. Works great for me! Just be sure your monitor uses a DVI-D (Dual Link) connector and you'll be fine.
I believe most newer model LCD monitors that have DVI do use that type of connector. At least I was recently shopping for monitors and that's how it appeared to me. This adapter works beautifully for me with an NEC 90GX2 19" LCD that I just purchased to add a second display to my G4 MDD.
Note: DVI-D does not have the necessary analog connections so it's NOT compatible with DVI-VGA adapters....

Know what you're buying I found out the hard way. This is a ADC (male) to DVI-D (female) adapter. DVI-D *DOES NOT* contain any analog data, nor holes for the 4 analog pins on the DVI-I or DVI-A connectors to even connect. (I think I saw this eluded to with regard to ViewSonic in another review.) What this means in plain English is:
* If you plan to use this cable to plug in a cheap $5 passive DVI to VGA adapter you're out of luck. The connector won't even fit, you need a $100+ *POWERED* DVI-D to VG...
