Has Issues. Very Promising. I've been waiting for someone to come out with a decent RAID1 Home NAS for a while and this unit has great potential. I knew it had issues but the new 1.02b bios has clear up most of them, and it should only get better.
The first problem I had was that the Easy Search utility did not see the unit on my network. I run DHCP, but not on the default space (192.168.0.x). One I got the IP of the unit in my IP space, all was well and I logged into the web admin interface.

Buggy, but im still hopeful I just bought this device and wanted to share some key points with you.
By the way I upgraded the firmware to the latest version 1.2b.
1) The drive can not be configured in any way until you install a harddrive and let the NAS format it. This means that if you don't pick a drive that the original firmware supports your out of luck.
2) There are far to many Firefox related bugs to mention so if you want to configure this drive make sure you can access the NAS from the I...

Good SATA Drive Enclosure One of the few of these type of items available on the market. I bought it with great trepidation after reading all the reviews. I had received some free drives from Newegg (Seagate) and needed to house them. This was a no brainer set up. The utility found it immediately without me having to mess around with turning virus protection or firewalls off. (XP pro SP2). Running non-stop for 5 months.. **** Updated Review 5/14/07 *****
I received a new unit from Amazon (fairly quickly I might add), and everything is up and working. It was indeed a bad unit. The unit has been working non-stop for 5+ months now and no complaint. I've even upgraded the firmware once to fix the RAID performance on it and it didn't even require me to wipe my data. It seems the new firmware revs are getting better and better. I would highly recommend this now after having it up and running for so long.
