Pros: Big Screen, 10 Key, Fast processor and memory. Lots of extras for a notebook at this price point. Vista is great! Pretty much a desktop replacement.
Cons: It has a sweet slick surface, but it does show fingerprints and might be a little slick to handle at times, but I'm not sure it should be a con.

Solid performer Tech Level: high

Pros: Great desktop replacement. The mobile Core 2 Duo delivers great performance. Dual 120GB HDs was a big plus for me - I use VMWare extensively, and being able to run I/O intensive operations on a second HD makes a big difference. Pretty slim for its class. I've owned several generations of this series (7000's,8000's etc) and they have all been solid, reliable notebooks.

Pros: Awesome laptop. Great features for the price. TV Tuner Card is nice extra and it comes with a nice Media Center remote in addition to the little remote that comes with the laptop. Very fast. Runs games and applications with no glitches. Has everything you could want in a laptop (except for Bluetooth, read below). For the price, there is no better deal.

Pros: Beautiful display. Notebook is equipped with a spacious keyboard and 10 key pad. The keys have a nice crispy click, great feel to the touch, I love typing on it. Webcam and microphone included. The dedicated video is wonderful. I am averaging 50+ FPS in Warcraft, even in crowded battlegrounds.

Pros: Great poertable machine...The Intel processor handle most thing you throw at it. the 240 gb hdd is actually two 120 gb hdd's (one is formatted and empty, a perfect solution for a dual boot) The 8600M gs is a failry peppy video card for a mobile platform (has 256 dedicated video ram, not sure yet if its a mobile PCI-E based card or fabricated with the motherboard) If its a mobile PCI-E card...it can be upgraded...

Pros: i love this laptop. nvidia 8600m gs dedicated. intel duo core 2 1.5 ghz is not slow is can play all new game in 2007 included crysis. dual hard drives makes you not run out of hard drive space. vista index score is 4.5. with enchanced speed step the battery lasts 3.5 hours.
Cons: wish the hard drive spinned at 7200 rpm. to replace the 2nd hard drive is hard.

Pros: I've always been a Toshiba fan but this HP is excellent. Its fast, sleek, great for multimedia, nice layout. TV tuner works great.
Cons: One dead pixel.
