Not perfect, but still a great little camera Picked this camera after reading tons of reviews. Main criteria, though, was the large, clear LCD screen.
There are lots of setting you can tweak on this, but the main ones I use are the ISO settings. Although this camera has anti-blur, I find that you still need to set the ISO higher manually in many instances to get the best results - that is, without using the flash, which I hate (in all cameras of this type). I wish Canon had done a better job of that.

Best camera in its class First of all, this is the first review I've written for any product. I thought that this camera is so great that I needed to write this.
I did a lot of research before buying this camera. Read about 25 reviews about this camera and the competitors. This is by far the best camera in its class. great camera Has more than what you would expect from a point and shoot camera. Photos have been rewarding. I happen to loose the charger at the airport, the replacement charger is quite expensive.

new digital camera Very nice camera. A bit heavy and bulky compared to my previous elph 400. The pictures are crystal clear and the color very good both indoors and out.

First was a dud! Like the last review I had this camera only a few days when the lens stopped retracting! Amazon mailed me another before i could even print the return label!As far as the actual picture quality its great. Powers on amazingly fast which is great when you have a toddler. Hopefully my replacement is right on point. Thanks Amazon for always great customer service!

Great camera, great price My camera broke and I had to get a new one before a trip. I goggled the top best cameras and the Canon PowerShot SD870IS was one of the top ten. I checked several sites and found the price on amazon.com to be the best price. I love my camera. It does everything and more.

my new camera I love my new camera. It's compact, loaded with features (and therefore versatile), easy to use, and attractive. It doesn't have an optical viewfinder, but I don't need it. I am super happy with its wide 3.8x optical zoom and large lcd. It's well-designed. Would buy it again.

First one didn't work long..
First one we received only worked for a couple of days and then the lens got stuck in the extended position and wouldn't retract when the camera was turned off. Amazon's exchange process was painless (Thanks Amazon) and we got a replacement in about 4 days. So far this one is working great. Photos and video are excellent.
