Not so great

This computer has the problems of battery life, and a weird screen look, which have been mentioned and explained elsewhere.

Pros: The color depth on the screen is nice. The size and form are great. The overall features are good. Wifi and bluetooth work well.

Cons: None of this stuff works like it is supposed to. The fingerprint reader software is clunky and slow. Vista is garbage. The computer runs incredibly slow, and hot. The machine is incredibly prone to crashing. ...

Problem- POST not recognizing memory on start-up. Computer-Pavilion still under warranty was shipped to Texas, Irving repair facility free of charge. When it was recieved back, after 45 min use stopped recognizing memory again with the same sound on start up. The paper work indicated that memory chip DDR2 PC4200 was replaced. After 3 hours with Indian technician on the phone and pulling out memory chips one by one, the defective chip was found and pulled out. The promise from the tecnician and ...

Not good for customised application

I bought this notebook in replacement of my Dell Inspiron 14.1 inch which is working absolutely fine.

In this notebook I have a 250GB of hard disk. I want to partition the hard drive as per my requirement. Upon talking to HP customer care they said you are not given an option to re partition the har drive. The operation system and driver CD they provide does the partitioning automatically. So I would never suggest this laptop (any HP laptop) for people who wants to customise their ...

The screen is 100% Scratch Proof but not the CASE

I am regretting buying this product.
My laptop has a lot of scratch on the screen frame and the case for my 2nd month of using.
HP Designer should use there common sense that laptop are mobilized device that people use to bring anywhere and they should focus on the durability of this device.
Never buy any shiny products from HP if you hate scratches.
I am wondering if there is a way I could refund or exchange my product after buying my laptop last November 2007.

Affordable Excellence

I have had this laptop for over a week now and so far I am very pleased with it. I use it with OneNote and it allows me to take notes in class. The handwriting recognition software does a pretty good job at recognizing my writing. It makes a few mistakes, but it suggest alternatives when it does and usually you can tap on one of the alternatives and you are good to go.

Could be better, but great wrt its price

The battery is big and its volume goes further outside of the case of the tablet PC. The fingerprint reader is on the screen and sometimes unintentionally one can press on it. This makes it harder to use when the screen is rotated 180 degrees to work in "real book" mode. The fingerprint reader should be placed which won't be a problem while using it as "real book".

Other than these 2 disadvantages, it is a satisfying product with respect to its price. If you plan to buy a PC just to...

Tres bon!!

I needed a laptop primarily for browsing the internet, as well as managing my iPod, iPhone and photos. I've always wanted a small laptop as I felt those 14 inch and above ones to be closer to desktops. I've always loved tiny gadgets.

This tablet by HP seems made just for me; 12.1 inch screen (which is not as tiny or difficult to read as one might think), 2GB RAM, 250GB hard drive (more than enough for me at this time), and about the size of an A4 sheet. Oh, and it's not too hard on ...

Great versatile "tablet" PC

I bought this PC on a whim after seeing an open box deal at Office Depot for $650. I had to bite on that price. I was really intending on returning it (I am a MacBook user). I have to say, after getting it fully set up, I am loving it. So much that I've listed my MacBook on eBay. No, I am not saying this PC is better than the MacBook, but b/c I got it for so cheap and my MacBook will sell for ~$1200 on eBay, I figured I'd pocket the additional $600 and get another Mac when this baby dies. <...

Very Happy

I've read a lot of reviews about this machine and have read some pretty scathing remarks about the computer, the OS, the touch screen, etc. But I have to be honest, this is probably the best machine I've ever owned. The touch screen works great. It was so simple to calibrate and I only had to do it once; same thing with the stylus. If I'm just browsing the internet or typing a paper I can get 2-3 hours easily out of the battery. Vista runs fine with no hang-ups or issues (so far). The mach...
