Cheap headphones Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: the ipod is fine. Exactly what i would expect.
Cons: You are not really getting a deal by buying a recertified ipod. they don't come with apple usb cords or apple head phones. they come with very cheap, low quality headphones. so you still have to go out and buy a good pair of headphones for about $30. so buying a recertif...

Apple delivers a light sexy iPod...just dont lose it! I bought this ipod to begin my workout routine. I also got the Belkin armband for the same reason. This Nano works flawlessly as a workout partner. Its light and packs a punch with sound. Syncs with no issue to my Macbook Pro. My only con is that it is so small it can get mixed up with the other things in my pocket. Get the rubber skin for it. All in all a great piece of technology from the innovative Apple. Highly recommended!

a small iPod, just the right size for a pocket Although this iPod has a tenth the storage of its big brother, the iPod classic, it fits perfectly into one's pocket and has, unlike previous generations of iPod Nanos, video and game support, making it feature-wise on par with the iPod classic if not as capacious. It's storage is also the same as the 8GB iPod touch, though the latter includes wifi and the safari web browser, but at about twice the price.
In short, this seems to be the iPod that provides what most people want - a w...

Requires Mac Operating System Upgrade I purchased this to replace an older Nano. On connecting it to my Mac Mini I was informed that I had Mac OSX Ver 10.3.9 and would need to upgrade to OSX Version 10.4.8 so the new Nano would be recognized.
On Googling this it appears that Version 10.4.8 is no longer available and that I will have to upgrade to Leopard - which is currently not getting the best upgrade reviews.
If Apple requires a particular version of their operating system for the new Nanos to work then ...

Voice recorder? FM receiver? My kids have Nanos and another player each. The Nanos cost twice as much and now collect dust. They move music and video on and off the players from any computer in the house without Itunes, voice record classes for notes and listen to the radio. All features present on most other MP3 players but strangely missing on the Ipod. My 9 year old has no problem using the interface on either product but prefers to play with the voice recorder making his own "radio shows". My 11 year old is more in...

No support for military or other Americans abroad If you support the military and foreign services workers abroad please consider this. I am an American who was assigned for work to Africa last year. I bought my ipod and set it up as if I lived in the States as that's my home. I just got re-assigned to Germany. When I tried to use the Ipod on a new PC I found out that Apple will not let me into my account because they can tell I'm in Germany and it's their policy to only let you use your account in the country you live. I therefore have lost th...

Nanopod Zune, Ipod, other, all junk. When will someone come out with a media player that doesn't require poorly written, intrusive software to be installed on your computer? Here's a concept for the engineers designing these things: Plug your media player into your computer, it shows up as an external hard drive, copy and paste the media files you want from your computer to the media player, go listen to your music and enjoy.. It's really that simple, there is no need for anything more. Why is this ...

Useless. I received my iPod Nano as a gift, and was thrilled. I have a 2-year-old mini iPod, and I'd seen these new ones and loved them. Only problem: I run OS 10.3.9 on my computer, and this thing requires 10.4.8. So basically, if I want to use this gift, I need to shell out $180 for a system upgrade that from what I've read is fraught with problems. No thanks.
When I called Apple to see about exchanging the present (still in original packaging) or getting a store credit, they told me that ...

junk My iPod died after 5 months use. Couldn't recharge the battery. iPod controls are not so easy to use, especially volume control. iTunes is horrible software: incredibly slow and the features are poor. Docking takes an incredibly long time.
Bought a Zune. Love the software, and the device works great. Volume control is particularly easy. Zune is what iPod and iTunes should have been.

Ipod nano 8 I bought an apple Ipod Nano 8GB as a gift. It had poor sound and wasn't in stereo so my friend exchanged it. The second one clicked when the volume was raised or lowered so she returned it and asked for an exchange. She was told there were no more. No More?? So I'm getting a refund.
