To buy or not to buy. The IPod Touch is great. The screen is absolutely beautiful and the back is like a mirror. Unfortunately they are scratch magnets like they were made of a liquid cristal :). Just a small rub with a piece of cloth can scratch the front or the back of the IPod. If you want it free of any scratch as it came out of the box... you can purchase a silicon case that comes with a protective screen or you can get them separately.

Apple's 16GB iPod Touch was the largest you could buy before the 32GB version was released in January 2008. This mobile device has a great combination of quality, and features, though its capacity falls just short of the ideal size for a true media player. The awesome video, sleek thin body and web capability are enough to make this unit worth considering despite a high price and some missing features.

Very nice.. but misses in a few key areas. Actual score: 3.5
I'll start off by saying that I've always been a big iPod fan and that this is my 4th to purchase. I'll try to keep comparisons minimal, but coming from owning previous models, that might be a bit tough.

Not bad out of the gate, but could use some improvements... O.K., I've had my Touch for 2 weeks now (1 week jailed, 1 week jailbroken ;-] ). It came with firmware 1.1.1 but now has the latest version.
The good:
- Audio quality is far better than my Nano
- I remain impressed with the screen image quality (no shadowing problem or dead/stuck pixels like some have had - knock wood)
- Decent battery life, but not the rated life (that's with heavy video use with the brightness up a bit - which is the culprit)

Much Better... After writing an unfavorable review for the iPod Touch 16Gb two months ago (and returning it for a refund) I was pleased to learn that Apple was releasing a new 32GB model. One of the main problems with the iPod Touch 16GB was the size of the flash memory. Why, with a beautiful, glass, widescreen display, would Apple design a video iPod with only 16GB of available drive space? My only guess was they were testing the waters for a new product...
