First IPod, Good but a couple of drawbacks. The product is good but it is a little hard to navigate. Like the volume when listening. Also, the screen scratched really easy.

Chip Off the Old Block The 6th generation is a very nicely improved version of the 80 gb classic iPod. It is quite a bit thinner than the 2-year old unit I am replacing. The graphics are improved in various ways, such as you see the album covers while tunes are playing. The sound and the earbuds seem to be the same as on my earlier unit, though, no improvements noticeable in those. The one mistake I made was in buying an iSkin cover... it was sized for the older generation and this one rattles around in it... to big. ...

Amazing space! I can't tell you how much I love this iPod. I have a confession to make - it's my very first iPod. I know, I know, I'm a bit behind the times. I've had a little Sony 2 gig sports mp3 player for a couple years and have really enjoyed it. It's super light and small but only holds about 1,300 songs, so I kept having to take songs off and add more when I got new music. Kind of a pain if it's your only mp3 player. Very unreliable... I am on my 3rd ipod video in 8 months. Apple, though it claims to offer a year's protection, really only offers two months (look at their web site for the details...the devil is in the details).
It's nice, when it works. Too bad it doesn't work nearly often enough. It is a lot of money to put towards a product that has clear design flaws.
In the future I'll be looking at more affordable mp3 players.

Not Compaible with older MAC OS I'm sure someone else has written this as there are 685 other reviews, but I neglected to read the fine print on OS requirements -- and this new Classic will not operate on my perfectly fine MAC OS 10.3.9 -- which means I am bascially forced to upgrade to Leopard. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's an extra $129 I had not planned on just to use an IPOD. (My old IPOD -- which died, ran fine on my old OS.)

Powerhouse Stunner. You know how it sucks when you fill up your ipod? You have to start deleting music and prioritizing. What do I really want to have on my Ipod? What can just be on Itunes... 80GB Classic 6th gen Love it. I will say, there still leaves some to be desired in the touch pad. Scrolling works, and sometimes is hard to move the select. Other than that, the sound is great, the picture is very clear on video.

wor can i say IPOD classic is awesome, i dont think i need to say much more. People tend to be complaining about the click wheel, mine works just fine and i preferred to itouch because of more space. And its as light as the 30 GB one so its pretty neat, kudos to apple

Excellent product If you want plenty of space for music, videos, pics and podcasts, but dont need the extras with the ipod touch (higher price, reduced amount of memory) this is a great product. Also nice improvements over 5th generation ipod. I am very satisfied with the 6th generation 80GB ipod classic.

Very pleased overall My two complaints are that it is slow to respond at times (presumably due to the fact that it must access the hard drive), and that there is no user-customizable EQ setting. Having said that, I've been very happy with my iPod and would recommend it to anyone. It's obviously a very sleek package and has a certain "heft" to it that indicates quality build materials and durability (to me).

IPOD for my new BMW I purchased a new BMW335xi with a factory installed IPod interface. Apple has worked with BMW to perfectly pair an IPod with the stereo system. All of my favorite songs are now easily played in my car or at any other time. ITunes makes it easily to download songs into the IPod.

Needed An Upgrade I recently purchased another Apple Ipod (80 Gig Model) due to the fact that I was using up the memory up on my 30 gig Ipod quick. Plus the headphone jack was loosening up as well ( sound coming out of one side ). I' ve owned it for 3 years.

It's my first - and I love it! I have waited to purchase an iPod - why, I am not sure. But I will say this: what took me so long? It is easy to use, easy to download to...not to mention my new found love of podcasts.
BE AWARE THOUGH: There are certain video formats that are not compatible with this iPod - so if that is a necessity, do your homework (I am disappointed in that, but I had no clue what to buy so shame on me for not being more diligent in my research).

Apple has become Microsoftish I just bought my fifth iPod (unfortunately last one was stolen from my car). The sixth generation has so many stupid "features" with no benefits (who needs cover flow?) that it has lost all of the simple FUNCTIONAL excellence that has been the hallmark of Apple since I bought my 128K Mac.

80GB is more than enough storage for everything I own! I have all my CD's on this Ipod and still have mega-space for movies and such....plus with an attachment, I can play it through my car stereo!
I bought a Belkin Case for it to protect the screen and body of it....I doubt it is that durable on its own, and I do not want to take that chance.
