Works, but slow The others have said it as well as I can. I agree with almost everything written (except the brief 2 line review that says it stinks). But here is my pro/con/comment report:

Cheap but very poor performance This product should be considered entry level for NAS functions. On the plus side it is loaded with lots of features and generally works well. If you need multi user access forget it as its network access is one at a time. Look elseware if you want to back up to this device as it is VERY SLOW. NAS-200 Cheaper than another computer I am a zealous collector of movies, ebooks and mp3 files. One of my computers has 6 hard discs and 2.6 TB of storage, and the other has 1.25 TB. I'm always running out of storage space. After a power supply failure on my 2.6 TB machine, (which I initially thought was a bad boot drive) I decided it was time to store my most valued files on another machine.

Hopelessly Slow, No NTFS support, No Gigabit support, No Multi-access Took this back after spending a day working with it. Now for the bad Access was slower than an old USB 1.0 backup device. It will not support multi access by 2 uses at once. 10100 base network support only. File size limitations. The NAS200 is to slow for streaming video. Easy setup, very stable, horrible large file transfer speeds Linksys could not make it any easier to set up this device. The install utility work with Windows Vista, sets up the drives, and automatically maps a network drive. Unfortunately, the transfer speeds are absolutely terrible. Moving 5 files for a total of 5.30GB, from the pc to the NAS200 took just under 40 minutes with an average transfer speed of less than 3.60MB/sec. Slow but cheap. Make no mistake this NAS is slow. If you do a search on the Internet you can find comparisons between the different NAS products. You will notice this is one of the slowest. Transferring large files videos takes a while. Fortunately this NAS is fastenough to stream video to multiple media players without problems. If the speed isnt an issue then this NAS is for you. If you need fast speeds then start looking at more expensive NAS devices.
