Great TV but not as good as Sony's LCD flat panels. I compared this TV to Sony's KDL-32M3000 LCD flat panel TV. The LCD TV won out because: 1. Sharper picture on HD signal - the KDF-37H1000 is a little more blurry. (Note the KDF-37H1000 picture is better than no-name brand LCDs). The Sony LCDs had better focus. 1a. LCD TVs have a brighter picture. The Sony TVs have 3 picture settings: i) Vivid (very bright, what you see in Best Buy, ii) Standard (less bright, what looks better at home), and iii) Cinema (softer, more reds and earth sha...

Wonderful HDTV For Those Of Us With Older Entertainment Centers There is only one reason to pay $900 for a 37" LCD Projection HDTV...space. My 32" 4:3 TV died and it sat in a beautiful Oak entertainment center. I'm not ready to part with that furniture yet. The opening for the TV is made for an up to 35" standard TV. Sony was on the ball creating this HDTV for people like me.
Flat panel LCD's in this size range don't measure up to the brightness, contrast and color of the Sony Bravia. Read the specs and compare. Luckily when I was shopping a...

Great TV replaces 32 inch tube Great TV, light and affordable. Better picture than similar price LCD's. Lots of inputs, and picture and sound options. We replaced our old 32 inch tube with this TV, my wife wanted to keep our TV cabinet so this was the perfect solution. We are very impressed with the picture, and we don't have HD yet. We are using Directv Tivo and a DVD player with HDMI connection.

Awesome Bang for Buck! This is my 3rd rear projection TV in my house. Looking at bang for buck, flat panels don't really offer anything comparable to the price when looking at features. I own a Sony 55" and a Panasonic 44" Rear projo TV as well.
The biggest feature that drew me back to the Sony was the 3LCD projection engine. It makes a difference when you have the processing work on the 3 separate color bands, the colors are more vibrant and sharp then the single chip LCD I have on my Panasonic. ...

Fantastic picture, bargin price! I had no intentions of buying a TV - we went out looking for a Nintendo DS and some PSP games. But there it was on display promoting DirecTV. It was marked down to $799 and Time Warner would take another $100 off if we signed up for digital cable. We ended up getting the TV (KDF-37H1000) for $676 brand new in a sealed box.
The picture is fantastic, much better than my 50" Samsung DLP in the living room. I plugged in a coax splitter and hooked up my basic cable to one side and ...

dead lamp after 80 days Mine worked great for 80 days and now it is dead. The lamp light is on and there is no picture. 8000 hours lamp life? I figure mine was was more like 300 hours. The owners manual says contact Sony for a replacement bulb but they don't seem to have them available on the web site. They have them for similar models for $200-$300. Great.

lamp needs replacement in less than 3 months We bought our Sony Bravia less than 3 months ago, and sometimes it won't turn on and the red Lamp light goes on. Apparently we need to get a new lamp (which costs $250)! Sony sucks.

Great TV I have had this product for over a month and it is fabulous! I had my buddy come over and hook up this color calibrater which did a great job! its no professional calibrator but it did turn pale colors for some movies into bright and vibrant and expanded on those that already looked good! only thing i suppose is lack of 1080p. I watch alot of blu-ray and would like to see them in their full potential, but for the price it is one of the best pictures i could find!

Excellent. I purchased the TV on clearance from Circuit City in January. It has a great picture when just hooked up normally. I have it hooked up with hdmi to digital cable and the picture is amazing. The only drawback, (which isn't really a drawback) is that it takes a little while to load (appx 10-12 seconds to see the picture, 20-25 seconds to fully load). But, trust me, it's worth the wait.
