Pros: Setup and installation was a breeze, took 10 minutes to configure RAID, several shared directories, and even add NFS support.
Cons: I don't think Synology complies with the GPL, you have to pay for source code access. (This is the only reason the product got 4 eggs)

Pros: This is THE answer to your NAS solutions. It has everything, Raid 0,1,5, It's almost as fast a PC based NAS, the Interface is outstanding and getting better. It supports LDAP.
Cons: It runs a little warm with 4 drives, it doesn't have to swap like the CS-408.
Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for and this is an excellent example of it.

Pros: Does what I need it to do, which is as a RAID5 NAS. Has a lot of other features such as web server with SQL and FTP access over SSL.
Cons: Though it's feature-rich, performance will always be limited by the CPU/RAM on the device, so be realistic in your expectations. It's not going to replace your web server AND storage.
