Lack of support Magellan is droping support on its older products if you use the VISTA operating system. I would not trust the company to keep supporting new products.

So Far, So Good... This is our first GPS unit, so take these comments from the perspective of someone who is basically unfamiliar with one of these units. Our general impression is favorable (so far); initial setup was fairly painless and intuitive, except for the download of the updates - make sure the unit is FULLY charged before you attempt it, because the download won't let you know it won't complete until later on (and the download setup process doesn't cancel all that easily). A Very Good Unit I had purchased this unit for my wife, who is map-challenged. It works extremely well, and locks onto the satellites quickly. It takes getting used to the menu system, but once you get into it, programming the destination address is very easy. The only problem I had (it has since been stolen)is that the TTS is a little hard to understand, and the internal speaker was not clear. Very Impressed This is my first GPS. I have not mounted it yet, but have tested it around town. I was amazed at the intuitive address entry logic. It worked better than I had expected. The unit locks-on signal very fast(under heavy cloud cover it took a little longer but never lost signal after. Excellent immediate long trip guide We ordered specifically for a 2,398 mile drive through 8 states, with multiple choices for best route through mountains, several high-traffic cities, and winter weather. It was a rock star the whole trip. It recalculated routing when we took side trips off the beaten path. It located our Starbucks fixes, for example. Excellent array of installed POIs. Setup in 5 minutes! POIs not bad... As soon as I picked it up from UPS, I got into the car and set up the Maestro in 5 minutes! The hardest part was ripping open the alcohol pad to clean the windshield. The mapping display is detailed with a nice, functional layout that is easy to read. The TTS system uses a pleasant female voice, but the "bell" (which indicates a turn action) is somewhat softer and not as audible. Maybe the bell should have its own volume control.
