A Pleasant Surprise Originally I had been eyeing the Tivoli radio brand because of their tuning sensitivity. I listen to late night AM radio and unfortunately most radio manufacturers produce poor quality radio receivers nowadays; from what I read on HD radio it didn't sound that beneficial to me, signals are said to cover less territory. I also wanted a CD player which meant the Tivoli would come in three pieces - too large for my night stand - and I assumed it would not play MP3's because the literature made no m...

Great Featured Radio I bought this radio for my kitchen, which is a high traffic, high use area. It has great sound but the features are the real sell. I was frustrated because most everything out there was focused on the iPod which I will never own. Also, most of the CD players will play mp3s but not wma format. My collection of thousands of songs are wma. This radio plays mp3 and wma formats from 3 different sources (USB drive, SD card or CD). It also has an aux jack so I can plug my (non-iPod) player in. N...

how sweet it is This is one sharp looking radio...it has a beautiful symetry about it....& yes, it sounds as good as it looks....so good it seems there is only one thing this Sangean cannot do that full size stereo systems can....& that is produce sound at levels that will distort your perception of time & space....& you know what?....i have outgrown the need for such things & am perfectly content to listen to music at decible levels that are comfortable to hear....in this Sangean, less is truely more....the WR...

A good unit...for specific applications. After much deliberation, and as much research as the Internet would afford me, I decided to buy this radio and try it firsthand. As always, I felt safer buying from Amazon because of their fair return policy and outstanding reputation. I knew I was going into this somewhat blindly because there are precious few reviews of this piece anywhere online, and even fewer by real folks like me.
Anyway, I got the product yesterday and test drove it in depth last night. Its first impression i...

The Best Table Top I had read reviews of most of the high-end table-top radios with CD - Bose, Cambridge, Polk, Tivoli and a few others. No iPod connection required for me, though it has a line-in.
The radio does AM/FM, CD (MP3), USB Flash (though it sticks out the front) and up to 2GB SD cards. I ripped my CD collection to high quality 320kbps - just over 2MB per minute. I bought a 3-pack of 2GB SD cards and each 1 holds about 15 hours of music.
The sound is fantastic and as good as any m...

grrreaatt product I was looking for an audio setup for our bedroom. Sometimes I get tired of my full audio setup in the living room. Looked at PC spkrs. Seemed expensive proposition for I needed to buy an ipod too to play music. And cannot play our CDs without a CD Player. Radio listening has to remain MONO from one of the my portables.
Then I turned to table tops. On the net I came across ONKYO CBX100,CBX300, YAMAHA TSX100,PHILIPS DCM230,BOSE WAVERADIO.
Not many reviews about ONKYO/YAMAHA. ...
