Excellent sound, excellent value

If you're thinking about buying a subwoofer, it is unlikely that you are a garden variety movie fan or lover of music. People looking for subwoofers usually already have a decent system, but know that there is something lacking.

When it came for me to buy one, three factors weighed in my decision: power, brand, and (of course) price. I've grown up with what I have always believed to be a 'healthy skepticism' when it comes to Sony products. My father had an early generation (1990ish...

A great ".1" - Almost Overkill

This piece completes my 5.1 system, all Sony. This thing can overpower the rest of the system, but sounds GREAT once it's dialed in. Power saver feature and active adjustable amp and crossover are key. I'm using the sub input with the amp set to about 2/3 and the crossover blocking some of the higher frequencies from coming through it. Music is great, movies are even better.

Take the time to tweak the settings

I had been very happy with the recent purchase of the Sony SS-B3000s. I thought Id give this very inexpensive sub a try. At first this sub sounded very boomy and as other reveiwers have said not very musical. It took me about a week to adjust the settings to where I was satisfied with the sound quality. If you make the effort to tweak the settings to your liking I think youll be happy with this sub. It is certainly a nice addition for the money.

Very impressed!

Wow. For the price I paid for this subwoofer I couldn't be happier. Gives out a deep, rich bass that I can feel through the furniture. Easy to hook up and operate. Could not be happier with this purchase.

By far the best sub for the money.

I mean lets be honest here if youre in the market for a $100 subwoofer you shouldnt be looking for huge output and the best range but a speaker that will fill out your intermediate-level system and this sub does just that very well. I owned the Sony SW-500 which was 12 and 150W and it definitely outshined this sub but it also cost twice as much.brbrIn summary this sub delivers a very nice sound for the money and if youre looking to delve into the world of subwoofers for the first time but dont ...

Great Sound

This subwoofer really performs. Have to keep the level turned down or else it is way too much bass. Like being inside a movie theatre.

Looking for cheap low end, here you go!

Remember people were talking about an $80.00 sub here. Thats what I chose to grade it on. For $80.00 dollars it gave me everything I wanted. I used the in and out speaker connections for this sub connected it to a very basic system in my basementdid a little tweaking and I was very surprised at the output from it. When I crank up the system it puts out more than enough base and at low volumn it has that nice thump that goes along with what your watching or listening to. Really for the pric...

Just what I wanted

I was looking for an inexpensive powered subwoofer that put out good bass without distortion and no subwoofer "farts". This thing works flawlessly and gives a good solid base for movies and TV. I am very pleased with this products performace and features!

SONY 150 WATT SUBWOOFER

THIS WAS A GREAT ADDITION TO MY HOME THEATER. THE BASE RESPONSE IS GREAT AND THE WOOFER HAS MORE POWER THAN I WILL EVER NEED. ANOTHER GREAT FEATURE IS THE ABILITY TO TURN UP OR DOWN THE BASE VOLUME.PLUS THE WOOFER WILL TURN ITSELF OFF WHEN NOT IN USE ANDFIRE BACK UP WHEN NEEDED. FOR ME IT WAS WELL WORTH THE $100.00 DOLLARS
