Pros: Beautiful picture, works great with Windows Media Center
Cons: The screw holes were a little far apart for the universal mount that I bought from Home Depot, but I managed to make it work anyway.

Choose carefully Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: less than 1 day
Pros: Price and relative picture quality. Plasmas have better color depth and contrast than LCD.
Cons: Power usage, LOW resolution, lack of digital audio outputs, heat. Plasmas are electricity HOGS. They also reflect more light (from windows, lamps etc.) than lCDs.
Other Thoughts: During the 60K hour half-life of this set, it will cost over $1,000 more in electric...

Best Value in HDTV Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: I bought the TH-42PC77U primarily for its anti-glare coating and its slightly higher spec'ed G10 panel. The colors and clarity are nothing short of stunning, and black levels are like midnight in the forest. I run it at half contrast and half brightness and that's plenty bright, and of course there is no blurring or judder. There are some fine LCD's out there now, but they would be hard pressed to match the over...

AWESOME TV This TV has far exceeded our expectations! The picture quality is excellent...esp. with an HDMI cable. I definitely don't feel anything is lacking since this is 'only' 720p. I can't see how the picture could be any better! The sound quality is superb as well, even when not running it thru the home theater system. And, even though this model does not feature an anti-glare or anti-reflective filter/screen like the updated model does, it poses no problems. We have a wall of windows, and once ...

Great picture, sound, and looks. I absolutely love this television. It has 2 HDMI, 2 Composite and 2 component inputs which allows me to hook up 3 different gaming consoles along with my Dish Network all at once.
At first the picture is a little to blurry for my taste on standard definition channels. But if you play with the picture settings you make sure you dont stretch to fit, you can make it look very nice. And the HD channels are amazing! I was going to buy a surround sound system but in my apartment the spea...

Pros: I can't explain just how beautiful this display is. I have friends who purchased LCD televisions and they are disapointed after they watch this set. It is like looking out a window, it's that clear. Simply stunning.
Cons: If I had to pick two things I guess I would have to say that being a plasma disply it is bit of a power hog (to be expected). It draws about 350-400 watts and puts o...

Old DVD player? Plan to upgrade There are many good reviews here already, so I won't drone on except with the things that I encountered.
If your DVD player doesn't have HDMI digital output, you may need to buy a new one to get a decent quality picture. My player was 5+ years old and the DVD picture was pretty bad, even with Component Video connection. I bought a Sony DVP-NS75H DVD Player (lower end model) with HDMI output and upconversion and now the picture is near HD.
One of the other reasons th...

Panasonic Plasma , Awesome TV, I bought this TV back in July. It is the best purchase I've made. I am a supporter of Panasonic products, and this TV surely lives up to my expectations. I was debating between the Samsung and this one, and when you broke it down, the Panasonic had the same features at a better price then the Samsung. Overall the picture quality is amazing, HD is amazing, the menus are user friendly. What I also liked about this TV is compared to a lot of the other Plasma's I looked at, the heat output from this...

Fantastic HD Television I spent countless hours researching the best options for HDTVs and looking at and testing different models, both LCD and plasma and by far plasma takes the cake for normal TV and movie viewing at home. This Panasonic plasma is one of the best. Like others I had seen HDTVs where people actually didn't use them to watch SD because they looked so awful. I have been very impressed with the quality of SD content on this TV. I know one difference is that I am getting off the air channels and not cable...

Blinking red light of death Reserched flat screens for over a year, finally decided on the Panny TH42PX75U. The price was right. Now I know why. Everything was groovy until the other night when just settling into a movie there was a loud "pop" and all went dead. Then started the blinking red light. 10 times then pause. Lucky its under warrenty, so a repairman is coming. Seven days later! I went on line and googled Panasonic and blinking red light, low and behold im not the first and wont be the last. Buyer beware of this b...

Fantastic Plasma, Fantastic Price This is hands down the best HDTV you can get for the price. I've had this for a month now and I must say that I am very impressed. The picture quality is great - it's 720p, but I compared to 1080p and I can't see a difference - and yes, I am picky about my A/V. I color calibrated this myself with AVIA/HCFR and I nailed the 6500k color temp and RGB levels no problem. I don't have a Blu-Ray player yet, but even DVD's look so crisp on this display.
To sum it up: Unless you don't mi...

Great TV for a Great Price. I spent a while looking for another hdtv. The other one I have is an RPCRT, with great PQ, but it is a dying standard. I decided to make the move to either plasma or lcd. I nearly got an lcd until I noticed lag in high intensity motion situations on many of them (and that is a problem because I watch TONS of sports). I wanted to stay away from plasma because of burn-in fears. It wasnt until I educated myself that I realized that burn-in is mostly a thing of the past. (when HD plasma tv's f...

Cheap upgrade to HD Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: Great quality, 2 HDMI, 2 Components, SD card slot, etc... Cheap upgrade for 720p HD, Price.
Cons: No PC support. Speakers aren't that good. No Digital Coaxial only Optical.
Other Thoughts: I am so glad I bought this and made the upgrade to HD, I really didn't know what I was missing until I hooked my HD box up.

DIGGY'S REVIEW IS SPOT ON!! READ HIS REVIEW!! OK as my title implies, Diggy's review here for the same Panasonic Plasma TV is absolutely accurate! I would strongly recommend anyone looking at a HD Flat screen TV to read his review. Frankly, I think his review applies well to just about all HD flat screens TVs at this point in time.
Like the masses, I was intoxicated with the desire for one of these large flat, sharp, colorful TVs. I too am coming from a Sony XBR CRT that was over 10 years old. So I thought it was time. It ...

wow ! I purchased this TV last week. I installed the TV , HDMI cable , and a new HD DVR cable box in less than 30 minutes. The picture out of the box was stunning. After tweaking the picture adjustments I must say this is the best TV for the money I`ve ever seen. I also have a Sony 57 XBR rear projection that I thought had an exellent picture till I turned this set.The remote could be better... but I won`t complain

Plasma: the way to go! I've only had this set for three days, but couldn't wait to add my two cents to all the other five-star reviews. I wanted a large-screen TV mainly for watching DVD movies - I have no real desire to add another satellite and pad my Dish bill with HD programming (like a bunch of Discovery channels I won't watch), so I was very leery of the Standard Def pictures I have seen on LCD sets. I have friends with various brands of LCD, and SD programs (which account for about 80% of what's on these days) ...

Fabulous Plasma TV Shipping Service was superior!! They came to the house on Saturday and delivered the television. The television is awesome. Picture quality is awesome. Good number of inputs - but I would have liked to see more considering most other televisions have 3 HDMIs anymore. I can just underscore all the good comments on this television and tell you to buy it now!

Amazing TV! This is my first foray into the world of HD, and am I impressed! I have spent the last 1-2 years drooling over the technologies of Plasma vs. LCD, and right up until the end, I was leaning LCD. In the end I chose plasma due to my watching predominantly sports.
Most reviews I read raved about the quality of the Panasonics, so I went with them, and I can say without a doubt, it was the right choice. The HD picture is flawless, and I like that there is a custom setting that I can us...
