the Lady knows We bought this unit for two reasons. It was only double what a unit would have been from our car rental company during a vacation, and our son will be travelling in the US and Europe for the next 5 months or so and we thought he would find it useful. This Nuvi 370 is a nice upgrade over the dealer installed GPS unit in my BMW, which I believe is made by Magellan - not a surprise since it's 7 years newer, but GPS is now a tenth the cost it was then, and is much more useful. Pros: Worked first time connected. Have loaded MP3 and bluetooth phone and all works great. Understands streets and directions in Chicago, soon to test on interstate to Indy. Bought an 8 GB card, but tech support said 4 GB was max, and that worked. You can load a lot of music and a picture or two for the splash screen.

| | | Works great, had difficulty in entering address. It worked great in my Canada trip. I had difficulty in entering address. As I have Magellen unit and Magellen allows you to enter only possible characters in city or street.
One need to be careful entering french addresses for Montreal or Qubec, etc.
Otherwise unit worked fine with price I paid $250.

I have had expereince with the military GPS in the mid/late 80's when the GPS was the entire back of a Hummer!! But I digress. This is about the new Nuvi 370. The only real problem for me is that many locations are not up to date. The strip mall down the street opened over 2 years ago and only around half the locations are in the Garmin. I did an update of their software and none of the locations missing came up. I have the Garmin 670 for routine local use in my car, got it for the larger screen etc. Got the 370 for travel-it packs easily, great for walking, bicycling or driving. The screen is terrific, easy to read-bright and clear and the directions are fantastic-the voice is easy to understand, thorough and prompt. The GPS was fantastic in all areas country and city and allowed us to take our time and wander more than have mapped out destinations.
