Did not work reliably I wanted to avoid installing wires. Price was right and it was so easy to set up - just plugged it in and it worked. However, it does not work reliably. I used it to connect an upstairs computer to a downstairs ADSL connection, and it only worked sporadically. I tried the obvious things, like turning off all appliances, but the problem only got worse over time. After a few weeks the connection only seemed to work in one direction. Finally I gave up and replaced it with a 15 meter ethernet cable....

Pros: Easy to use. One power connector, one ethernet port.
Cons: Getting the utilities to work with it wasn't straightforward. Not as fast as I'd hoped (for example 3.3Mbps transfer).
Other Thoughts: Working good with 3 PLA-400s, and one ZyXEL NBG-318S.

Pros: The PLA-400 has worked as well as advertised and I would recommend it. One important thing to note is that you don't want to plug it into a power supply (surge protector) with 5-6 other devices plugged into it also. You want to plug the PLA-400 into its own power outlet. The user guide did not make this distinction.

Truly plug-and-play Got this from Amazon and was up and running within minutes. An update to Windows Vista screwed up the wireless connection on my wife's computer to our router. Plugged the little box into the outlet and a LAN cable into the computerr and - presto - ready to go. I'll most certainly buy another one.
