Finally!!! For the past couple months I've been struggling to find a USB wireless adapter for my iMac, OS X.4 (I was foolish for not getting the Airport Card when I bought the machine). I bought the Belkin F5D7050 after reading a bunch reviews on the Mac boards. However, I got v4000 instead of v3000. Not that anyone can tell looking at the packaging.
Last week I found this little wonder. Installed the driver. Restarted the machine, pluged in the dongle, went to Network Preferences, and Da-...

A rare joy... Its rare to order something like this and have it working within 3 minutes of unboxing it... so this product was a treat for me. Under MAC OS/X 10.4 this device worked flawlessly with virtually no effort. I've read other posts that say the software isn't very nice looking or easy - but I found the look and feel acceptable and the information that it gives you excellent. If you aren't technical, ignore all the stuff in the software. If you are, there's lots of neat numbers to look at. <...

Keep it cool! I was finding a No Device message and strange dropouts until I noticed how hot this was getting. I was using the extender and I had placed it on top of a stereo audio device that was adding heat. Use the included adapter so it is surrounded by air (don't lay it flat on a surface) -- and connect directly to computer. Since then, very reliable and I used the statistics to optimize placement. Allows extreme 811.g level wireless speeds on my old flat screen iMac 17" -- I can use a slingbox on it wit...

OSX users take note The Amazon ad and the manufacturer's site say it is OSX compatible. When you get the package, the box says OSX 10.3 and 10.4 only, and when you read the installation paperwork, it tells you 10.3.9 and 10.4 only. I Never could get it working on my G3 (and don't need it for my G4). Works great on my PC running XP. However, don't use their device management software. It sucks. Windows networking works fine.

It works great! Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: It works in iBook G3. It cost only 30 dollars.
Cons: Are you kidding? What cons?
Other Thoughts: This is way cheaper then buying original AirPort card (that is out of production) for my old iBook G3. I am very happy with this product.

Works Great With Mac Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: Excellent range, software (works with OS 10.3+ and is easy to use and install) and price (vs. Apple Airport)
Cons: None so far
Other Thoughts: Bought this for a G3 Laptop instead of a Airport Card. This adaptor uses 802.11g technology which is about 5+ times faster than Airport, which uses 802.11b and the...
