Apple 1GB Shuffle - A steep price for a starter MP3 Player The iPod Shuffle second generation is a great MP3 player for working out or running, especially if you are a die-hard Apple fan. However, the steep price means you had better review all your options before you choose this.
Pros - Small size - Nice case design - Many color options - Highly durable player - Apple reputation
Cons - High price point - Less durable shell - Proprietary dock for syncing - Small capacity (1GB) wit...

Only works if YOU are good enough for Apple I am deployed to Afghanistan so as it is you have to have anything electronic you want mailed to family in the US and mailed to you, no one seems to be willing to send any electronics to an APO, so I guess the thought of major companies is that if we did not bring it we should not have it. So I went through the hoops and waited 2 weeks instead of the one it would have taken had they direct mailed. Then once I get it, they do not come with the software to load any music on it, you have to downl...

Very expense....wake up apple I have owned both shuffle and Creative Zen Stone plus. Below is a comparison.
0. Both retail for 70$ and both are really very cute. 1. Shuffle is apple while creative is not. So all the apple fans would buy it anyway. 2. Shuffle has no screen, zen stone plus has got a screen albeit a small one. 3. shuffle has 1gb memory while zen stone plus has 2gb. 4. No FM tuner for the shuffle. 5. No stop watch for the shuffle. 6. Shuffle is very Fragile while so far i...

Good system ruined by iTunes The iPod Shuffle is great, don't get me wrong. I owned the original version (the gum pack size unit) along with this one, but the overall idea is ruined by a couple of factors:
* It's iTunes or nothing. Fat chance you can load anything on this puppy without iTunes doing the work. Got music at work on your Microsoft Media Player? Too stinkin' bad. * If you get rid of the iPod (like I did, only because of iTunes) and opt to uninstall iTunes, you'll soon find out the iTunes is h...

What's all of the fuss about? I received this as a gift last Christmas. It does not list the names of the tracks or the artist being played. It is way too small and therefore an inconvenience. I stuck it in a drawer somewhere last January and there it has been ever since. It is not even worth my time or effort to see if it works.

Nano vs. Shuffle I own a Nano and a Shuffle. Both work great. But, only my Nano allows me to load multiple playlists. On the other hand, the Shuffle is super light weight, and easier to use at the gym. I have to use a "holder" in order to use my Nano at the gym, but thats ok because I like have more options...like deciding where in my playlist I'm going to start my workout. Bottom line, both are great -- just understand that each has its limiting characteristics. Word.

Flippin' Awesome. Originally, after several recommendations, I bought an 8gb non-Apple unit that cost nearly 4 times what the shuffle costs and packed a lot of gimmicky features like movies and text. It was bulky, bloated, and didn't work as expected. After a month of use, it wasn't what I wanted so I sold it and bought an iPod shuffle.
First of all, the shuffle is tiny and just looks cool. Apple knows sexy. It was hard deciding on a color but I finally settled with green.
The unit is ve...

Rugged I had an early iPod and liked it but the hard disk died out of warranty. I learned that all the iPods (other than this own) use a hard disk. This uses flash memory which makes it much more durable. If you are running, biking or hiking with your player or if you're prone to drop it, consider the shuffle. If it had a menu and allowed you to select songs individually, it would be perfect.

perfect little thing! This is so far the best mp3 player I have used - and my first ipod. I am very satisfied with the sound quality-I recommend using it with a good pair of headphones. It is so small and light that you forget you are carrying it. The clip fits perfectly, the controls are very easy and file transfer is fast. It works so nice with itunes, just plug it in and it takes care of the rest. The only disadvantage I can think of is the absence of an fm tuner but I never listen to radios on mp3 players so that ...
