Spend more - buy a better unit After losing my old sound canceling headphones, I thought I would try this unit, since it looks good, the price was nice and low, and JVC is a well known brand. I was dissapointed by their performance compared to my old ones. Their sound canceling effectiveness is not as good as some other models on the market, and they are on the heavy side. As a glasses wearer, I also found them uncomfortable because they were too tight against the ears.

Pay more for something that works These are uncomfortable, and do not cancel out much noise at all when on a plane. I will throw them in the trash when I buy a real pair of noise canceling headphones.

Love it - must have ! I bought these headphones last week for my trip to Nepal.
These sound quality is awesome and they are very comfortable
for long trips.
The 2 types of noise cancellation both work well and they fold up nicely.
Highly recommended !
I am buying another one for my life partner today.

don't wear them in public I don't understand why they would make the arms of these headphones jut out to the side of your head so dramatically. Really goofy looking and actually uncomfortable because the weight of the headphones are supported by the rigid pad that rests top center of your skull. So they look really stupid and they give me a headache from having this dead weight pressing into the top of my head. Why?
Trust me, the folding feature isn't worth all of this, because they are still the size of a g...

Good headphones, not really noise cancelling These headphones are comfortable, and have good sound quality, but I would not call them noise cancelling at all. I flip the switch to turn on the feature, and I can still hear things normally, but with a "hiss" added on top. I wouldn't spend the money for these again.

Reduces noise about 10% I bought the JVC phones and the Bose series 2 with the intention of making a comparison. Returned the JVC the next day. Dollar for dollar, the Bose is a better deal, even though they cost 5 times as much as the JVC. Sorry to say, JVC has a flop on its hands.

marginal at best Based upon other reviews, I looked forward to getting the results I needed at non-Bose prices. The use planned was to cancel out the crappy music at the gym, and substitute my own. Neither setting works very well, and I have to put the volume up so high I'm concerned about hearing damage. Back to the old in-ears. I now have a $50 plus set of useless headphones.

JVC HANC80 Headphone The product was great and was the perfect gift. However, the problem was in the shipping. I paid for the fast shipping to arrive before Christmas. It arrived a few days after Christmas by ground. On the package was a sticker that said 2nd day and the address label said ground. JVC HANC80 Folding Noise Cancelling Headphone - Excellent Product I just used the headphones on two different flights from overseas. I always thought regular over-the-ear headphones drowned out noise until I ran an experiment. I first put the headphones on, put powered off and the jet noise was diminished as usual. When the Captain gave the ok to power electronic devices (yes, this was listed as one of those devices!), I powered it on. The difference was amazing. I didn't know what I'd been missing.
