Works like a Floppy Tech Level: somewhat high

Pros: There isnt much to it. It reads floppies, it puts data on floppies, it formats floppies.
Cons: Nothin' else needed to be done. I wish it could cook poptarts.

DOA - no protective shield on bottom Tech Level: high

Cons: DOA. Bottom does not have a protective shield, any wire or cable that presses against the bottom of the drive will prevent it from spinning when reading the disk. Go for the Sony, has a protective shield.

Pros: It works.
Cons: The model shipped to me is the SFD-321B/LFBL1 instead of the /LBL1. There are three possible problems I see:
1) The motor is exposed, so any cables stuffed beneath the drive could rub against the motor and prevent the disk from spinning.
