Had problems on Win2K, but working great on XP with latest drivers Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: Special drivers change the drive names and icons (to indicate both card type and card present / absent) so you know that, for instance, F: corresponds to the SD slot. Lots of formats supported in the small 3.5"" form-factor. Dual internal / external design is nice.
Cons: On my old Win2K box, using the drivers that came with the unit, di...

Great little card reader Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: This product is in general an all around awesome little device. I've had no problems with it reading Smartmedia and Compactflash cards of 128MB and 2GB, respectively. Brands I've used with it include Kingston, Sandisk, and a generic CompYouKnowWhat card. Shows up fine in XP Pro and works the same on my laptop and desktop.
Cons: None real...

Two bad ones Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: Matches black case very well. Internal and external installation options. Front USB port handy for memory sticks in the internal configuration (my installation). The drivers that show the distinct card icons in color when a card is inserted were actually more useful than I would have thought.
Cons: The first one had weird instability prob...

Works in XPS 410 Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: It works in a Dell XPS 410 without having to redo any of the wires. No problems once I figured out how to install it.
Cons: The installation was a bit tricky. The instructions are not particularly clear.
Other Thoughts: If you own an XPS 410, you have to look at the pin out instructions in the card reade...

Works as advertised! Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: I connected it to my motherboard using the included cables, and it works like it should. Vista detects the removable drives, and when I stick a card in it works the way you'd expect it to. The 3.5"" form factor occupies what is otherwise a useless gap in my case, and packs in the functionality. Doesn't need external power either (no goofy floppy power connect...

Oh... I thought it was just a 3.5" bay slot holder Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: Very excellent customer support... that's about it (why I gave 2 eggs)
Cons: The product is terrible. I received one, it worked for about a day and then it just quit. The power light would not even go on. Then I RMA'd it through the manufacture(who provided excellent service and provided shiping both ways) and sent me out a new box very quickly. The new one plugged in internally and it ...

Great Reader! Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: Great looking, solid, well made hardware. Very fast. No problems whatsoever. Installation was very fast.
Cons: Little more expensive than others but worth it.
Other Thoughts: I previously went with a Linkskey reader that failed to work at all. I recommend you go with this one instead of a cheaper alternative...

Works w/ SD-HC Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: It works w/ the A-Data 8GB SD-HC card that is currently on sale (as well as every other sd & CF card I've stuck in it). Looks clean in PC & can use as an external reader.
Cons: None that I can think of.

Awesome product Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: Looks Great, very fast, reads almost every conceivable Flash Media card without need for adapters* Pass through USB 2.0 front port.
Cons: Doesn't come with swappable face plate.
Other Thoughts: Previous review mentioned this is same as XM-28U, but it's not. I own both the XM-28U & PRO-28U. There are some minor...

You get what you pay for Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: less than 1 day This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: This is a very nice multi reader with excellent performance and fit & finish. Under WinXp It was a simple plug and play operation. I didn't use the supplied mobo header cables. My internal install in a ""dude"" server that had 2 hidden usb ports was sort of a special case. having the ability to use normal usb cables for the install was a huge ...
