Great Router Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: This is a relatively cheap router that is packed with some robust features. Two USB ports, 266Mhz Clockspeed, 8mb flash, 32 ram, coupled with the fact that it is compatible with DD-WRT, Open WRT or Oleg's open source router firmwares, make it worth its weight in gold. Replacing the factory default firmware can improve performance and give you great functionality...

Good Router Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: USB 2.0, 5 port switch, wireless built in, flashable with third party firmware
Cons: ASUS firmware is horrible
Other Thoughts: I bought this knowing that I could flash with third party firmware and with the intent of flashing with third party firmware. Good thing. I played around with the ASUS firmware for several hours just to see what it could do and f...

DOESNT LIVE UP TO REPUTATION Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: Excellent hardware specifications. Everything looks good on paper. Performance is great when it works.
Cons: I was really expecting to strike gold with this router, unfortunately, it was more like striking coal. There are two major problems. First, the firmware is extremely buggy. There are many major holes and features that don’t work righ...

Bittorrent Rockstar Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: For the average user, I’m sure this router will suit your needs right out of the box. The EZ Setup is a bit lame for the technical user, but “EZ” for the novice. The real feature of this bad boy is the 32mb of RAM and the 233 processor. When you flash it with DD-WRT (which I’m sure you will want to if you are a power user) you will see this thing come alive. htt...

Great for DD-WRT Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: Easy to setup, pretty much works out of the box. Great features built in, EXT2 support. Great features even without 3rd party firmware. For DD-WRT and other 3rd Party firmwares this router can hardly be beat, its one of the fastest out there (sort of the WL-700g). Very easy to setup DD-WRT (as long as you fallow instructions)
Cons: Bit t...

The hackers Router Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: 100% compatible with DD-WRT Linux based firmware means total control of your router plus access to features most users have no idea even exist. High performance proc, with great overclocking. USB 2.0 support and BitTorrent aware. Adding an external drive turnes this beast into a great file server! Based on the same hardware as big name brands.
Cons: Poor manuel (but if you are a techy,...

Great with Open Source Firmware! Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: While great out of the box with the default OEM ASUS firmware, this ASUS Wireless Router can be loaded with any major Open Source Firmware out on the market today including DD-WRT and OpenWRT. For the true person who loves to hack, this beast has a 266 MHz MIPS CPU, 8MB flash and 32MB RAM making it an ideal environment to run custom firmwares with Linux embedded...

Sweet Eazy to setup, blazingly fast, clunky UI.
Also, be carefull when setting up a USB printer as several of the features of multifunction printers such as scanning will not be supported
Bought to replace linksys. Can't say enough positive about this router

Excellent for 3rd party firmware Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: Good hardware for DD-WRT support, had it up and running within 30mins. USB plugs are a plus. Matches xbox360 look
Cons: sits flat, would have been nice to have it turn sideways to take up less space
Other Thoughts: great deal
