On-board Directional Mic.

Cons: Being the Directional Mic is attached to the camera itself...you will have to constantly remind the heavy breather type camera-men to keep their lungs silent.
If you have to money (and sound people), detach the direction mic altogether a...

Good camera, but not the best. Tech Level: high
Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: Interchangeable lens system, sturdy camera, 4 audio channels, decent factory lens, native 16:9 ccd's (can bump footage STRAIGHT to film), 24p, ergonomics.
Cons: A bit heavy for holding them camera by the handle (just use is shoulder mounted most of the time), interchangeable lens system, expensive, stock lens (20x) is kind of poor for wide angle usage.

The best prosumer out there Tech Level: high

Just the ticket Easy to use. Three days out of the box and we were recording our first special event on the job. The 20x zoom lens worked out perfectly for our large event room. Was able to get clear closeups when needed without interfering with the speaker or the audience. Tied-in with our existing sound system via the XLR jacks.

great camera Great camera the picture quality is great. The controls are very easy to find and use. the amount of audio controls and what you can do with it is increadble. the only probelm (if you could call it that) is the mic that it comes with has a tin sound to it. but it sounds great with a better mic.
