Great Hard Drive - Amazon's Price is Ridiculous The enclosure is a solid aluminum extrusion making this a very durable drive, and perfect for backing up photo or camcorder trips. The drive screams with firewire 800 and supports raid zero. It is a great bargin - provided you shop around!
LaCie sells the 320 GB drive for $429.99 direct, and you can beat that by $60.00 if you shop around.
Amazon's partner is asking crazy money for this drive!

An Engineering Marvel I use it with my MacBook Pro and Final Cut Pro to edit a broadcast that airs on the WB Network. It has been reliable, fast & convenient.

Great Little Drive Great Drive. Fast when using Firewire 800. Quiet too. I've owned them all. USB always is unreliable, firewire just works. If you're looking for a portable yet powerful drive, this is it.

Excellent Little Drive Have a PowerBook G4 and have used many external hard drives, this is by far the largest capacity drive that i have used, it is fast, reasonably quiet and stylish, it is also nice that it runs off bus power for firewire 400/800 but also has an AC adapter for some USB applications, (Most portable externals make you purchase the AC adapter separate) I would certainly recommend this to anybody who needs alot of space and is very mobile

Good Harddrive Found this drive to be very quite, fast and very small for use in the field. The option of having it powered by the firewire or external power adapter greatly enhances the use. It's fast, efficient, works with photos very well.

Great speed and operation! By using the Firewire 800 I achieved to copy a 1.7GB movie from my macbook pro 2.5GHz/250GB 5400 RPM to this LaCie drive in 45 seconds. My eSATA drive connected by an express card 34 is not much faster as the Firewire 800 has a better sustained rate of speed no matter how full your external drive is. Xbench drive benchmarking shows a sustained read and write speed of 62 MB/sec via Firewire 800. I love the fact it is powered by the Firewire 800 connection.
