The best plasma for the money I've had experience with several HDTVs and this one is the best especially at this price. This is actually a commercial model TV which is a good thing. You don't have to pay for extra speakers and a tuner you won't use and its a generation ahead of consumer models in display tech.
Forget having to tweak the settings all day using a setup DVD to get the best picture, this thing looked amazing out of the box. I barely had to change anything to get a perfect picture. My old Sony HDTV r...

This is the best! Forget the rest! I have done extensive research, testing and fiddleling on flat panels tv's. And I just have to tell you. You will not find a better display anywhere on this planet for sell right now(2-01-2006)! The Panasonic TH 50PHD8UK 50 commercial model is far superior to any other plasma display and non plasma displays, like DLP and others! Even the Panasonic consumer models are no match for this beast! The commercial models are built for precision viewing and durability ! You will never see a consumer...

Outstanding picture! Excellent versatility! ABOUT WHERE I PURCHASED THE TV FROM: I bought this TV (technically a monitor) from Butterfly Photo. Although they weren't the cheapest (still got a great price), it was an online store I've bought from in the past and I knew they had a physical location if I needed to get in there face about something. Turned out to be one of my best shopping experiences which is very comforting for such a large purchase. They called me the next night after I placed my order to let me know that the TV D...

A plasma for my mom Mom's bedridden, so I bought her this panasonic plasma monitor (note: Its not a TV..its just a monitor. Think in terms of a very big computer monitor that still needs to be hooked up to a computer to see anything). Mom's response: "Roy Rogers and John Wayne never looked so good!" Here's the way I hooked it up: My cable company (Adelphia) has a high def cable box with an HDMI port. So I 'did' get the HDMI module for this panasonic monitor and installed it. VERY easy to ins...

Compared all this one is the Best! This plasma is awesome! I compared all the 50" plasma out there and the picture on the Panasonic is by far superior. The blacks are true black, no green or red haze as on some models. Keep in mind there is no tuner or speakers, but if you cannot get over the air reception or are always going to use cable or satellite and have surround sound, who cares! I recommend purchasing the optional HDMI input card for the ultimate picture. You can't go wrong with this one!!!

Amazing picture If you don't need speakers or a tuner, this plasma is the way to go. The picture is amazing and the price makes this tv a great deal. I highly recommend the th-50phd8uk. Note that it does not come with an HDMI input - there is an optional card for it. I am currently using the component inputs, which work fine for me.

extremely pleased I'm incredibly pleased with the purchase. The only thing I wasn't really aware of is how much heat the plasma TV produces. One quirky thing is that the component video in uses BNC connectors, not RCA-style connectors. Additionally: this item is too large to ship via UPS, it was shipped via freight. Getting status information via the web was not possible, but the freight company delivered the HDTV on the earliest estimated delivery date.

Great Value Why pay extra for cheapo speakers and a tuner that you will never need? Every dime of the cost of this monitor goes toward producing a drop-dead gorgeous picture. That's why this Panasonic line is always top rated. Your HD tuner box from the cable company or satellite provider will do your tuning anyway, so paying for a built-in tuner is a waste. Look on the set of ESPN and news broadcasts and you will notice this monitor and it's 42" little brother a LOT! It's the choice of professionals w...

Excellent picture This plasma has an incredible picture and it is hard to beat this price. Black levels are very good compared to other HD sets I've seen. Note that everything is extra on this model - stand, HDMI 'blade' that allows hook up using HDMI, and speakers. I use my home theater for sound and even with an HDMI blade and a wall mount from Peerless it was still a good deal. I bought and returned 3 other HD TVs and this is the one that I kept.

Great picture for a low price If you don't need the tuner or speakers this is a great unit. I have the HDMI card and stand from the previous 07 model and they work fine. Everyone who sees it marvels at the depth and sharpness of the picture. Normally a Sony lover but this set made me change my mind and replace my 1994 $2000 32" Sony XBR2 Recommend highly.
