GET THESE TO HELP YOUR NIPPLES IF YOU'RE IN SO MUCH PAIN THAT YOU'RE CRYING!..or just uncomfortable A few days after I got home from the hospital I was thinking of stopping to breasfeed because my nipples were so sore and in such pain (even though baby was latched on just fine). best breast therapy - period! I was given these while my son was in the NICU and I was having to pump constantly to build a supply. They were BY FAR the most relieving thing I found. I tried the Gerber, Medela and Platex gel pads and they just didn't cut it. The great thing about the Ameda hydrogels is that you can keep using them over and over and over. Better things out there The lactation consultants at the hospital raved about these, but I didn't find them that great. They feel great cold, but that wears off in 15 seconds and they can't be cleaned so they get grimy quickly. If you drop them on the floor and have the wash them off it shortens their life. I preferred the hard shells that are available from most brands that support breastfeeding. the ONLY breastfeeding must-have I got these when I developed cracked and bleeding nipples with my 2nd child. They are the ONLY thing that helped. No amount of lanolin would relieve that initial latch pain. Once I started using these, the pain went away. It was a miracle! I had to use just a couple pairs. Wish I could give them 6 stars! These gel pads saved me when my daughter was born. I was blistered & bleeding by the end of the first day nursing but determined to breastfeed. We picked these up on the way home from the hospital and they made it possible for me to continue. Keep them in the refrigerator and apply right after nursing each time--HEAVEN. A Must Have!! You need some kind of hydrogel (any brand really) if you're going to try breastfeeding. I would not have made it through the first week without them. They're good for a few days, so you'll need more than one pair. Ask for a pair before you leave the hospital. I think I ended up going through three or four pair. Wonderful-must have for nursing moms I bought these before the birth of our child based on the other reviews I've read. Our baby has trouble nursing in a way that was very uncomfortable. I used these for the first 2 weeks, and I don't want to even think about how much more miserable I would have been had I not purchased them. I've pretty much gone to pumping only now, but I do try to nurse some, so I'll definetley be purchasing more.

Life Savior for sore nipples I received these at the hospital after having my baby and needed another pair after they wore out. So I looked online to see how I could get some more. I'm not sure how these work, but my nipples were very sore, cracked, bloody, etc. and these pads healed them right away. I was just about ready to give up, but decided to get more of these pads and after 2 weeks of using them, the nipples were fine and nursing was going great. I tried the playtex nipple shields and they did not work at all....
