GREAT PRINT SERVER I read many review about print servers and how they didn't work well, were difficult, many negative comments. So I just dove in and purchased the Buffalo LPV3-U2 print server.
What a joy. I set up a network printer in minutes! This is how technology is supposed to work. Smooth, uncomplicated installation. I highly recommend this product.

With some effort, works on MacBook The Buffalo Print Server wouldn't install on my MacBook, though I followed their instructions to the letter. But these steps solved the problem...
Once I switched to the Windows partition (borrow a PC if you have to), the setup was a breeze. I went back to the OSX partition, installed Gutenprint 5.0, set the printer address to the IP that showed up in Windows, and all was well.

Great for Windows, works for Mac with a bit of effort I use a Windows based wireless network with a Mac attached. I used the print server to connect my Canon PIXMA. I had no trouble getting the printer recognized and working in <10 minutes. For the Mac, lets just say I took more like hours and purchasing PrintFab to get it to work. I works now without problems, but the set up was more challenging than expected.

Great for Mac and Windows Although I've never heard of Buffalo Technology before (http://www.buffalotech.com) I decided to purchase this product because there was at least some confirmation from others that it would work with Apple OS X. No junk to install, set it up and forget about it. I have used a variety of Print servers for my own personal use. Most it seems require you to install a variety of different software configuration utilities in order to work. Many of these utilities make it "easier" to install a Print server and set it up. Only Works w Certain Printers Make sure you go to Buffalo's website and check to see if your printer is compatible. I believe this product would have been easy enough to setup and use but 4 hours later I found out that my printer was not compatible. Not sure of the compatibility with Mac, I couldn't get past the PC instal.
