Great PoE Switch! Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: Great easy to use switch. PoE works great - just plug and play operation.
Cons: Mail in rebate seems like a scam. Research it first, I've had zero luck thus far and have spent more time trying to get it than $20 is worth.
Other Thoughts: I recommend the switch at this price.

Cheap POE Switch Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: These are cheap POE switches that are great for extending our IP phone system to parts of the building that did not have POE switches.
Cons: We have had one of the two units we purchased lose port (i.e. dead) in less than 4 months. The unit has not yet been warranteed.

. Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: Small and inexpensive solution if you just need a few quick PoE ports. Metal case is nice.
Cons: Watch that power budget.
Other Thoughts: Powering two Netgear WG302s with no problems.

Fine product I bought this switch for the poe feature. That feature works fine providing power to a poe-enabled network camera. The non-poe ports also work fine. Installation was plug and play. I would highly recommend this product.

Most economical PoE switch available Tech Level: high Ownership: more than 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: Great price for PoE switch, very reliable, lifetime warranty.
Cons: Somewhat limited PoE power budget (check power requirements of connected devices and plan carefully!)
Other Thoughts: I have six of these in active service, and have yet to have any problems with them. I use them with Netgear PoE access points (WG10...

Good for 2 PoE Tech Level: high Ownership: less than 1 day
Pros: Cheap and realiable switch.
Cons: Power level is low only 38W
Other Thoughts: but please note: This switch provides only 38W, which means 8W per port, where avarage PoE AP draws 10-12W, meaning you really can have 2 PoE AP connected to the device. Unfortuantly for me I nees 3 AP to work with. So just hope it will help some one not to get in trouble :)

Needs Occasional Power Reset It works most of the time, but about once a month freezes up. Removing and reapplying power brings it back to life, but you could waste a lot of time trying to figure out why your network isn't working if you have several components to check.

not so much PoE Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: Easy to hook up because it is a ""dumb"" switch, there are no configuration options for it.
Cons: not enough power for three Siemens (Chantry) AP2610 access points. It will power them but they power cycle at least once a day and the amber PoE max warning light on the switch is always blinking.

Great Inexpensive POE device Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: These items are great, we are using them for our time clocks.
Cons: None other than not rack mountable, and only 4 POE ports, but what do you expect for the price. The ""wall mounting kit"" is two screws and anchors to attach it to the wall, no railings or hardware other than the screws.
Other Thoughts: We purchased 11 of these with no issues of any of them.

Update to 10/15/2006 review Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: I added another IK-WB15A surveillance camera to the switch (now total POE devices = 2) and still working great! Video surveillance is really cool! I have both cameras streaming 640x480 at 15fps with no problems (can even do 30 fps with no sweat but recording at that rate chews disk fast).
Cons: None - I haven't been disappointed by netgea...

POE works fine for me Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: POE working well with one Toshiba IK-WB15A surveillance camera - even when operating camera PTZ functions POE seems ok. Not tried with any other POE devices or more than one camera but I don't expect to power more than three devices.
Cons: It would be nice if the ports were gigabit but I guess I can't expect too much at this price. Hopefull...

Works with netgear APs Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Pros: I am using this switch to power 3 Netgear WAG102 access points. So far it works fine, as each AP draws less than 5w of power from the switch
Cons: None so far. Have not tested w/ other 802.3af equipment yet.
Other Thoughts: Much cheaper than PoE switches from Dell or Cisco

NETGEAR Rare Miss Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: This Switch is very well built, all metal case makes grounding easy, and it looks good. I've had this running for 4 months and have never had to reset it. Netgear is plug and forget.
Cons: DOES NOT WORK WITH POE. I've tried this with MANY devices, and it only powers a very select few. Does not work with MikroTik or senao boards. I did get it to power a network camera. If you are buyin...

Be careful with POE Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: 1) Low Cost 2) Small Size
Cons: This POE switch will not support 4 VOIP telephones at one time. It is quoted at having a 32W POE budget but 4x 6W phones put it over budget.
It should only be used for very light POE draws.

Great switch, especially if you want POE Tech Level: Ownership: This user purchased this item from Newegg.com
Comments: Switch is very easy to setup, basicly open the box and plug it into your network. Bought it to use with a WG102 WAP as both support POE (Power Over Ethernet). This makes intallation somewhat easier as the separate power supply for the WG102 is not needed.
Unit is in a rugged matel case (prefer over the plastic ones now common) and a little pricey. Overall it was woth the c...
