Very worthy for the home network. I have 3 PC's and they all share a cable connection through one of these. Sure it doesn't support 100MBps but I don't have that anyway...and more than likely, neither do you.For the price, ease of use and compatibility you really can't go wrong here. If in the future you need an upgrade you won't be out anything by spending so little on something like this, so go ahead...it really performs.

If you don't foresee needing 100/Base T speeds, buy this Though I'm not convinced this hub is the smartest option for serious network building in the work environment, it is the perfect, inexpensive start-up for a home network. With room for five computers, it boasts more capacity than most families could reasonably use. Its 10/Base-T speed limit is faster than most homes would currently need (even cable ISPs don't give residential users faster than 10/Base-T speeds at the moment). And the product description is accurate when it claims that the...

You get what you pay for. Sure, the hub works - I've had it in my home LAN for a year now. Surfing, and low-bandwidth streaming is fine for this teeny-tiny box.But note that when you saturate the LAN pipe - say, ftp'ing stuff, or with NetMeeting-type stuff - you WILL see collisions appear. TONS of collisions. The little red LED basically stays lit. Paying $50/month for the 300 Kbps @home cable connection, and seeing your transfer rate drop dramatically when you use a $30 hub (instead of a $60 switch) is penny-wi...

Excellent robust hub I've been using this hub for a while for a mixed-platform home network of 2 Windows machines, 1 Linux, and a cable modem. I've never had any problems with the hub, and I consistently get data throughput--not including headers--of about 9Mbps. I highly recommend this hub (or its kit) for anyone who only needs 10Mbps speed.

Decent Reliability Proves Cost Effective This is a pretty cheap hub. In terms of price that is. For the cost is delivers a nice bang. I don't really push it much, but my hub is connected to a 10base-T LAN for my campus ethernet and I've got three computers hooked up to it. It usually handles multiple connections well, but there's just a few times when the poor hub just can't take it and the collision light blinks mad crazy. Performance is decent for my setup however, but my setup is probably atypical. However, if it can manage to deliv...

This Hub gives a bottleneck performance. After owning this hub for a few weeks I discovered the poor performance it really gives. I have came across more bottlenecks than I have ever anticipated. I called tech support for any type of solution but I was left on hold for over 2 hours. Having schedules to meet, I finally gave up on assistance. Not only is this product poor in performance, but also poor in service.

Great Performance for 10MB/sec Hub This is the second hub (same model) that I have bought (the first got zapped by lightning!). The price has fallen and the performance is still there. Only thing I sort of miss is the extra activity lights that were on previous model. Still this is a fantastic value for a 5 port hub.
