An incredible change Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Very fast drive... my applications feel like they just spring up to life when I execute them. This drive definitely breathed new life into my MacBook Pro "Classic" Core 2 Duo 2.2GHz and 4GB RAM.
Cons: The price... time will change this. I am sure in a couple of years you will laugh at a 80GB SSD and what we paid for it.
I have ...

. Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Very fast, seeking no longer matters. Applications open instantly, from kernel load to desktop boot time is almost ten times faster.
Cons: Doesn't work with the new MacBooks in BIOS mode. Linux can see it, but if you try to boot off of it for Windows or Linux the drive won't be found by the bootloader. I had to work around this by cha...

Released the Beast! Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: Unfortunately, I bought mine over a month ago, before NewEgg had them in inventory. In my 12 years of building and repairing computers, I have never experienced having a single component change make such a noticable difference in performance in my machine. Every app, every page load, every game open in a fraction of the time with my previous drives. As you know, any system is limited by the slowest data bottle...

Clear some misconceptions... Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
Pros: Incredibly fast. Intel delivers on their name with a SSD that outperforms everything in the market.
Cons: Cost, but that is always the price of performance, nothing fast is free...or cheap.
Other Thoughts: People here might tell you they are getting higher PC scores purely because of the hard drive, while true, isn't the real measure of this hard drive. The measu...

Limited by system bottlenecks Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: It's a shame that some reviewers are marking this drive down because of limited speeds on "their" systems. With the high tech knowledge they proclaim, they should be aware that their own system chipset is likely limiting the read speeds, not the SSD. These drives will burst to 250mbs easily in systems that aren't bottlenecked elsewhere.
Cons: People not having to prove the...

Wow! Great Performance Boost Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: The SSD was added to a Vista64, QX9650 running at 3.66Ghz, 8 gig DDR2-1066, raptor-based system. I added it as a second boot configuration, installing Vista64 directly on the SSD. I thought the machine was fast before this was added! The machine now flies! Adding the SSD boosted the PCVantage-64 benchmark from 6500 to 9500. This encouraged me to ...

ROCKS! Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: A SSD that works. After buying 2 different SSD's this one works! LOVE IT! DO me a favor if you are in the market for a ssd only buy the Intel brand as of right now.
Cons: Not a con but sustained read speeds are 187 mb a sec and was able to burst a 230 a mb a sec
Other Thoughts: wish it was 160 gb

Things to remember Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
Pros: The best MLC drive on the market by far. Low power consumption, silent operation, INSANE read speeds and best in class MLC write speeds. The only MLC choice for laptop owners.
Cons: Price. 2 high-end SATA magnetic HDD will still outperform this drive in RAID 0, if you are a desktop user with $650 to spend on storage rather go for 2x raptors if performance is what you are after and you...

Partition it first! Then install OS. Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: Very fast, near instantaneous response to mouse clicks. Very short boot time. All the usual accolades given to SSD drives in general, and the 10-channel controller equipped Intel X-25 specifically.
Cons: Was not immediately available upon insertion into my Dell D830 simply because it didn't have a partition. I partitioned the drive using Partition Magic (recovery disk) first a...
