Works, but *not* standards compliant Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Inexpensive, works as advertised.
Cons: Beware! This unit predates the IEEE 802.3af standard and is *not* compatible with it. Unlike standard injectors, this injector applies 48V power continuously to pairs 1 & 4, so you also need 4-pair cable even at 10/100 Mb/s.
Other Thoughts: If you have mor...

More than I needed I really only needed a PoE power injector (the "base" unit) for powering a 3com NBX phone which takes its power directly from the ethernet. For that use, it works perfectly. The termination half gets tossed in a drawer...maybe I'll need it someday.

Poorly Designed D-Link Junk! Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Zero
Cons: I connected a brand new $600 12 volt surveillance camera to this thing several months ago and it was working. Suddenly the camera stopped working and when I investigated, I discovered to my horror that instead of 12 volts, this piece of trash was sending 48 volts to the camera, frying all of its electronics!

Have over 7 sets in use This is an Ideal POE adapter I have about 7 of these powering up my wireless APs in my network It is rock solid and reliable. I have 3 in outdoor locations one for over 2 years now and others in home and barn locations with no problems. Really Like these they are problem solvers. My longest link is a dwl-2100ap at the end of a 200 foot cat 5e run through the woods inside a rootenna from fab corp

Works as advertised Tech Level: average Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Cheap and flexible. Works well with a Netgear WG302 access point that I didn't have close power to.
Cons: It's kinda messy in the rack, but much better than having to install additional electrical outlets.

Great Product Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Unit is simply Plug and Play - no configuration necessary. You just plug one end into your power, connect an ethernet cord to it, run the ethernet cable to wherever your second device needing the PoE is, connect the second adapter and use the special power from endpoint to input on your PoE device. Voila, you're done. I used these with a DLink 4000 series camera...

D-Link DWL-P200 Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: This product works exactly as advertised. For around 6 months I've tested it out with a Axis 207 network surveillance camera operating at 5.1V and it has worked flawlessly. Recently I started using the POE adapter on an Axis 210 which is capable of operating at 7-20V. Switching the adapter to 12V and powering the Axis 210 for 3+ months now, it worked flawles...

Simply works Tech Level: average Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Small. Low price. Can be set for 5v or 12v output.
Cons: As another reviewer noted, the base unit of the pair will clutter your rack. No big deal unless you have many of these.
Other Thoughts: Used this with a Dlink DCS-900 to create a simple surveillance system for my office. There were no power outlets where I nee...
