Great for laptops that don't have modems Tech Level: somewhat high

Pros: Works with Linux. Supposed to work with other OS's as well, but I didn't bother trying Vista after it worked with Linux.

A Great Little Dial-Up Modem For Linux Users Tech Level: high

Pros: (1) The modem is nice and compact -- great for travel and dial-up ISPs. (2) The Linux driver builds easily, exactly as described in the PDF manual. I did it on a Toshiba Tecra laptop running Slackware 12.1, with the default 2.6.24.5 kernel. Works, Kinda Tech Level: average
Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
Pros: Easy to load the driver, easy to connect (it's USB). Works well when it works.
Cons: Only loads about 2-3 web pages before it stops receiving data. Seems to interfere with the performance of any other USB device I'm using while connected to the internet.
