Nice switch - desktop This is a nice switch that I use on my desktop for several ethernet connections. Has a stand that keeps in upright position. Not sure if they comes in black - would have preferred black to match other equipment. But works great!

Pros: Same excellent quality of my other Netgear products. My switches/routers are in a HOT converted walk-in closet; the old switch has been functioning for several years and would probably still be going but my grandson dragged it off by the wire. Still works with tape on the power plug but goes off and on.

Works like a champ! This switch worked right out of the box the first time it was plugged in. I have had it for over a month and no problems so far!

Functionality and Ease of Use I've bought quite a few of these from NetGear, in both the 5 and 8 port variety. They work great right out of the box. Note that it is a switch rather than a router - this means that your modem rather than the box will be giving an internet address. This makes life far easier when networking devices, particularly in the corporate environment.

Works as expected I plugged it in and it worked as expected. There is not really a lot to a switch.
The lights are VERY bright. I have this in my basement with my router so the lights are not an issue. However, if you put this on your desk where you were working, I could see this possible being an issue.
