Other Thoughts: newegg is getting very sloppy with their item specs... it does not say weather it comes with the docking station that this product offers, and if it comes with either a single or double usb cord ( this sucks just over the amount a single usb port is rated for)

Good backup drive! Easy to use, pretty quiet operation. Can handle unplugging without any major hiccup. I got this to use with my windows laptop. I have a really nice 1TB drive for my Macintosh Fantom G-force Quad 1TB Esata / Firewire 400/800 / USB 2.0. This is a very good drive and the access times are short. Write and read times are good enough to watch video from, or if you are making a large backup, to not slow down your main machine too much.

Pros: Super portable, only requires 1 USB cable. Works right out of the box with no need for software install, etc. Runs cool and quiet. Bus powered, so if you have spare USB cables, you only need to take the drive with you.

Perfect I bought this at Wal-Mart for about the same price. Its perfect.
There is nearly 300 GB of useable free space. is about 1/8 of the size of the 80 GB drive it is replacing. Imagine about two credit cards from top to bottom and the thickness of an iPod classic.
I've got about 18,000 music and video files on it and about 17,000 other documents and it is maybe 1/2 to 2/3 full. It is a great way to back up data and to work between different PCs and Macs.

Perfect Item Even though I have been using the hardrive for only a couple of days so far I am convinced that it was a great purchase.
It comes in an extremely appealing shape - very slim, light and small, seems to be of very high quality and is fast enough for daily use. If you use a rather old computer with low USB power supply the single USB cable might be too less to run the drive; consider buying a Y-cable or a new computer then. great backup drive I have been through troubles with many other brands of drives and have consistantly found that seagate is the most reliable in HDD drives. That is why I have seagate in my desktop and this drive I use to backup my files on my work station and personal home computer. Transfer rates through the USB are fast enough for my desires. It's great that this drive is powered though the USB too.

very slim, very small, very cool looking drive from reputable maker I've had this drive for just a short time, but I know Seagate is a hard drive manufacturer with many years of top notch experience. This drive is much smaller, lighter, slimmer and better looking than most external drives. Pros: Relatively quick drive, just uses one USB port. I've got it velcroed to the back of my laptop and the laptop still fits in its bag comfortably. It's small enough to fit in your pocket (unless you have really tiny pockets) but still had a decent chunk of storage for a usb powered drive.

Best solution for laptops and AirBook Tech Level: high

Pros: Well machined case. Very small and light. Powers off of USB port. 5 year warranty. The bottom of the drive has a thin coating on the metal so it grips and prevents it slipping. The small circles at one end light up to show power and activity for the drive.
Cons: You can't get one larger than 500GB.
Other Thoughts: The docking station is worth the extra money...
