GOOD This new pioneer in dash is sweet. It has bluetooth already built in so u dont need to buy that seprate like the old one. The only down side of the player is that is take awhile for it to boot up becuase of the navigation system built in. And another downside is when you go over the speed limit the In Dash constantly says Your Going Over the speed limit. Other than that its great. Hands Free capability and also can change the station or songs.

Shows Promise, but Too Slow and Too Many Bugs This unit seems to do it all, but once you have it installed, you will find out that it does have severe problems.
The BAD:
1) The bluetooth hands-free system does not work well. You can hear fine through the car speakers, but on the other end of the line, your voice is barely comprehensible. This is a huge problem for me, because bluetooth was a major factor in choosing this unit.

Don't buy unless you read this! What a disappointment. Boot time is ridiculousl you have to be careful when trying to change stations since one little wrong move and you get a station you dont want. The volume control is for kids since its hard to navigate my big fingers around theknob and I also have to be careful not to hit the wrong area on the knob or the station changes or map zoom alters And get ready for a learning curve that will take hours to understand every nuance of the system. Amazing once you install the firmware upgrade Pioneer has acknowledged that the first release of this system had issues ... freezing up, parking break warning for no reason, lack of proper brightness, etc. But they issued an upgrade in July of 2008. THIS UPDATE FIXES EVERYTHING.

a BIG let down... I was a previous AVIC-N2 owner. I liked the system so much, I decided to upgrade to the "latest and greatest". Unfortunately I didn't read reviews or forums, only the Pioneer website which showed some awesome videos. However, most of the videos are inaccurate!

My daughter love this unit I purchased this unit for my daughter's Honda Civic, and WOW she just loves it. I had it installed to work with the existing steering wheel functions and added the IPod adapter which is installed in the glove box. She just plug it in and used voice commands to access her music and podcasts (this uses the same software as the Ford/MS sync systems). New update solves a TON of problems Pioneer released version "2.0" of the firmware tonight and it addresses:
- Showing blank backgrounds on the map's upper left and right of the screen
- iPod connection dropping out
- better BlueTooth connectivity
and
- MUCH fast startup time (like 40% increase)
This update turns this unit from a "would not recommend" to a "would totally recommend"

dissapointing The unit takes a nearly two minutes to boot up completly!! the bluetooth disconnects every two minutes from my blackberry, when I called the company they said "sorry, we havnt been able to make the avic stay connected to blackberry" the guy said that they havnt smoothed out the software glitches yet!! this unit seemed very apealing based on write up and specs. Unfortunatly using the the unit is a dissapointment.

Not bad for the price I put this unit in my car 2 weeks ago. I received a unit with the firmware update already installed so I never experienced most of the issues other reviews have complained of. There is still about a 90 second boot time before you have control of the functions. But, whatever audio source you were using when you last had the radio on starts playing after about 10 seconds so it's not like your sitting in your car in silence for the initial 90 seconds.
