The best general purpose lens available
 
The Carl Zeiss 24-70mm f/2.8 SSM Lens is an impressively high performing zoom lens. I regard it as one of the best general purpose lenses.

The lens build and mechanical quality are top of the line. It focuses quietly and very fast thanks to the SSM (Super Sonic Wave Motor). Also the focus zoom ring is nicely sized and operate smoothly.

Zeiss 24-70mm f/2.8 SSM
 
Excellent lens: amazingly sharp, superfast focusing. Works great with my A700. The lens renders out-of-focus areas better than any other lenses I've had before. One can say it's too heavy for everyday shootings. Nevertheless, you won't be disappointed with the results.

An excellent constant zoom
 
This is nothing short of an amazing lens the image quality is incredible and it is the sharpest zoom I have ever used. Bettering the output of my Canon 24-70 f2.8 L and at least on par with my Nikon 24-70 f2.8G Nano it is definitely a professional lens for the Sony lineup. My images are crystal clear and sharp at f2.8 no matter what zoom.brbrIf you are unfamiliar with lenses in this zoomaperture range then understand that they are quite a bit heavier and larger then your typical zoom lens.

The best standard zoom
 
Its Zeiss Glass. The best optic on a sony camera.Very very sharp an strong construction. I highly recommend this item.

a must for photography with Alpha 700
 
I am shooting portrait photography for professional work (phototherapy) and this lens is one of the best I have with Zeiss 85mm, aperture F/2.8 allows to shoot in low light, cristal clear, sharp images, smooth and extremely fast focus , this lens is a must and permits to magnify all the qualities of DSLR Sony Alpha 700, highly recommended
