Love It I was originally going to buy this computer in a different color but I decided to be practical and stick with black. Ive had it for a few months and it works very well. Windows Vista is a bit different but havent had any problems with it so far. I like the spacing on the keyboard, and I like that it is a Sony. Ive had many laptops in the past, often the cheaper dell or HP deals but with this one I finally feel like the money I spent was well worth it. Definately recommend it.

Awesome Laptop The laptop is great, This black model has finger print reader too.i did not found any drawbacks in the model. The speed is good , voice clarity is good, Image is good and also it comes with norton/office 2 month free trial.

Don't do biz with Sony, save yourself the endless hassle I had heard the rumours too: that once you buy it, they don't care.
It's true. They will say anything that sounds peachy, delivery dates, custom configurations, etc. I had given them another chance recently and it's the same story.
Their TV's are great, but they just don't really care about you, their bread and butter. The bloatware that comes with it is pretty terrible too. It was easier to just buy a new copy of windows Vista and overwrite all their trialware than it was...

don't buy sony I own a Vaio and so does my girlfriend. Unbelievably, her charger does not work on my Vaio, and vice versa. Further, the Vaio does not accept SD cards so you have to carry a converter, plus, most ridiculously, my Sony video camera's memory stick does not fit Sony's memoery stick. Sony has produced different memory sticks for its video cameras, compatible maybe with who knows what, another converter to buy and carry. My kid loves it I ordered this Vaio from Amazon over a month ago when it was offered as a Gold Box item. His Compaq mini-tower had died two months prior and I thought a laptop would make more sense for him now.

Excellent compromise between performance and price If you're looking for a laptop to replace your bulky home desktop, this is an excellent option. Though Intel's 5550 is not the fastest CPU on the market the whole system performance it's really good. It loads MSOffice quite fast as well as other home/office applications. Web surfing is perfect. SOny Vaio Laptops are "The Best" I have owned 6-7 laptops in the last 3-4 years and that includes Toshiba, HP, Sony Vaio (2 of them) including this one, and yes, a Mac Book Pro.
I must say that this machine is so far the best one out there, specially considering the machine with the balancing factor of price.
