No regrets The Toshiba 42AV500U is an execellent value. I was very pleased with the picture quality, brightness, and viewable angle. I have not tested it with HD yet. It is easy to setup and use.

Great Value I've had this tv for a few weeks now and am very pleased. I've had more expensive LCDs previously (Sony and Samsung), and personally I don't notice a difference in quality. Easy to use features, sound is good, looks good. Only downfall is that there are only 2HDMI inputs.

Can't go wrong for the money Bought their 42" Regza last year for around $1,100. Just bought this newer (updated) version on sale for $798 locally (American TV). Great value. Excellent all around. 720p? Have seen their 1080p Regza and can't tell the difference. Connections were not a concern for me as it is to be used JUST with HD satellite.
Doubtless the switch to all 1080p has affected the marketplace and the 720's are being dumped. My old eyes will never know the difference on a 42 inch set.

Great Quality at a Great Price!
I recently purchased a Toshiba 42AV500U 42" LCD Flat Panel Television, and I was blown away by the performance and quality. Every channel looks good, and the HD channels are spectacular. The definition is sharp, the color is rich and the sound is crystal clear. I'm considering buying a 26" for the bedroom, and will definitely look at Toshiba first. I am very happy with this television, and for those who want high quality, a nice ample screen size and are on a budget, let me highly recommen...

Phyllis This TV is amazing. We own 3 Toshiba's. 2 of the 26" Regzas and this new model. It has a great sound system, and a beautiful picture. I would definitely recommend this TV to anyone.

Pros: bargain price, SD looks amazing, deep blacks and bright colors. my eyes can't see any color inaccuracies like you get on some of the LCD models
Cons: a little thicker than I would have wanted it, but it's not noticeable when you're watching it, only 2 hdmi ports

Great purchase Pros:Great TV.Excellent Picture and Sound.Great Price.Excellent Delivery.Universal, easy to program, remote control (I programmed 2 devices in les than 5 min).I mounted it on the wall using a Peerles Universal Tilting Mount, also very good.
Cons: None so far.

. I love this Tv. I've had it for about three months and I get nothing but compliments on it. The only thing that caught me off gaurd is, when you input to a different connection. The screen will take a second to adjust itself. The sound is incredible. It can get really loud even before you get to the middle of the sound check. I'm gald I took the time to buy this LCD. . Pro's: Nice big screen, beautiful bezel, SD programming looks decent, HD looks incredible, blu ray disks look clean and crisp, PS3 is just outstanding. Con's: Remote is kinda unresponsive...gotta press buttons 2 or 3 times to get it to respond, Dynalight seems more distracting than effective. Gotta scroll through ALL the video inputs to get to the input you want. All in all it's a good value...it's true you can get a 1080p 42'' for the same price but you gotta ask yourself would you rather hav...
