About time, Or so I thought. :: It seems the Shut off Issue has been corrected on my set!!::
Prior to picking this TV up I had 2 of the 71 series televisions. Both of them had problems concerning a flicker as well as a some dim pixel clusters under the screen. I still had my last 71 under the 30 day policy so i returned it for this years new model: the 650A.

Only Flaw Was Fixed Everyone has a true gripe about the Shutting off Flaw but Samsung just released a new firmware that can easily be added to the TV through a simple download. br I bought mine about 2 weeks ago and had the same problem due to the TV being amazing in every aspect besides the shutting off randomly i hung on to it until I received an email back from Samsung. Excellent Technology and the cost benefit with a CC deal is sweet! I picked this up 3 days ago. It was marked down and applied a coupon plus the associate added an additional ciode taking more off the final cost. If you patiently work the menu you can get a picture that you want like the 71f series but better. The black setting and 120hz are easy to access - again just learn and be patient. The picture is excellent sound great and the look is stylish. I highly reccomend this LCD. Samsung does a fine job honing its technology year to year and they did well ...

Incredible Picture! It's amazing I have now owned this television for about 2 weeks. I purchased the Samsung 71 series about 5 weeks ago. I thought the picture quality of that tv was amazing but I did not like the blur. That tv also had 120hz processing but it did have an 8ms refresh rate. The contrast was 250001. RANDOM SHUT OFF ISSUE FIXED Just a heads up to anyone owning any size model of the 650 series...
Samsung issued a firmware update, via their website on 4/3/08, that fixes the random shut off problem. You will need a USB flash drive to apply the update via the Wiselink USB port on the TV. This firmware update also enhances the AMP effect on all sets.

The Best TV I have ever owned Some people may be hard pressed to considering spending $2900 + for a TV but this TV is the best out there. Picture is chrisp and clean and much better at least i though than any plasma in the store. Get this one while you can I purchased the 46 inch Samsung 650 series after much research and contemplation. I was amazed at the picture quality and ease of use. Dont bother upgrading to the more expensive 700 series because there really isnt much value doing so. The clarity evenon a non-digital cable platform is amazing. Excellent Tech Level: high
Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: Great picture with very deep blacks for a LCD. The 120HZ makes a huge difference with video games. Lots and lots of ports make adding multiple components a snap. Easy to understand and use menus make adjusting the picture to your liking simple. You can't go wrong with this one.
Cons: The remote feels a little cheap. It works fine, it just feels a bit cheap in your hand.

EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had a older model samsung from a few years ago 46 lcd that i thought come in very good until I bought this model. WOW what a picture this has compared to the rest of the lcds of this size. This is clearly the best 46 lcd TV in the showroom I see that day. The sound is not the best but a cheap suround system makes it sound great. The nice red tint to the frame makes it look nice in the room also instead just a black box in the corner.
