Excellent camrera for the cost Bought the S8100 as a replacement for the S5000. Cost was the same as the S5000 seven years ago but you get much more for the money now. Not sure about battery life but I always carried two extra sets of rechargables with the S5000. Many more features with the 8100 but the camera can still be used right out of the box without studing the manual. Well worth the price

A great long zoom camera with excellent macro lens I purchased this camera about 3 weeks ago and it took some time to learn all the features. Once you learn to use the camera correctly the pictures are stunning.brI have taken my nieces softball pics outstanding. landscape and sunsets just beautiful andpeople photography with the face detection feature is second to none.brthe image stabilization works perfectly and let me not leave out the wonderful natural image plus flash which takes a shot with and without the flash Wow what a camera.brAnd ...

I love the 18x zoom on this camera!! I replaced a 10 year old digital camera with the Fujifilm 8100. I was looking for a camera that used AA batteries and had a zoom. I am in awe at what the zoom is capable of doing. I am still discovering all the features of the camera but the fully automatic pictures taken thus far are of good quality.

I love this camera! I got this camera because of the kids sports...i could never get close enough with normal camera. But I didnt want the big lense camera either. Pros: The zoom is wonderful. The rapid shot at 5mp is excellent when trying to take those rare shots. My wife loves to turn the camera to the rapid shot mode and take 30-50 pictures to get that 1 rare shot.
