. Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: DD-WRT builds v.24 RC5 and later run on this router. (That "RC" means "release candidate" - I did find a couple of bugs and rough edges, though no showstoppers.) It is the lowest-price router I could find with the 240 MHz Broadcom 5354 chipset, 16 MB RAM, and 4 MB flash - which is a great spec to support a standard DD-WRT install, and a much ...

Great DD-WRT router Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: less than 1 day This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Good wireless & wired speeds, DD-WRT compatible, USB port, external antenna.
Cons: Antenna isn't the greatest, Asus firmware is horrible.
Other Thoughts: I would highly recommend reading all of the documentation on flashing this router, it took me sometime and I almost bricked the router. I would also no...

Cons: No cons so ...

Firmware Adventure Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Good inexpensive router, USB port, supports DD-WRT...
I had a bit of an adventure finding a build of DDWRT with USB support. After several failed attempts at using the JFFS/telnet route, I finally found a custom build.
Too small flash for mega builds, I think I wound up using CaScAdE's build from the forums.

USB Port is NOT for HD! Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: less than 1 day This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Works as it should, as a wireless router. Network printing only works on certain printer models. You might want to double check with Asus's site for their list.
Cons: USB port is not for HDs or usb sticks...its ONLY for network printing.
Other Thoughts: I haven't tried DD-WRT but from what I searched thi...

No manual included Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Great price for what it is and does. Previous D-Link had a loose screw ...no literally a loose screw inside shorted something out. This one is built much better.
Cons: No user manual included. D-link worked 1-2-3, Asus not so much. Had to go to the website after I was ready to chuck this in the can because I wasn't getting anyw...

SLOooow Wireless Tech Level: average Ownership: 1 day to 1 week This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Wired connection speed is great; easy setup; looks good;
Cons: Wireless connection speed is about the same as dial-up. This turn into a downgrade from my Linksys Wireless-B instead of an upgrade.
Other Thoughts: I'm sure it will work faster with a ASUS wireless adapter but I don't own one. The in...

Exactly what I wanted Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: I was looking for a cheap router to install DD-WRT on to. Buffalo is out of the US market for the time being, so this fit the bill. Installing DD-WRT went without a hitch, and it functions perfectly. -The power brick is more than manageable. -Compatible with a third party antenna I bought a while back, unlike my WRT54Gv5.
Cons: The def...
