Works Perfectly Well
This review is from: HP 6988 Deskjet Printer (CB055A#B1H) (Office Product) We purchased this printer as a replacement for our 722c, which had two problems: (a) the USB to parallel cable just didn't seem to work; (b) sharing a printer through a computer on the network just never seems to work well. The 6988 would presumably be as reliable as the old 722 and solve both problems -- network ready and accessible directly over the (wireless) network. I'm content so far....

Very pleased -- easy to set up for wireless use
Overall Ive been quite pleased with this printer. It was extremely easy to setup which cant be said for a lot of wireless network printers. Very clear instructions are included that walk you through the process of getting up and running whichwas VERY easy -- take out of box plug in to power outlet load paper cartridges hit a button to enable wireless networking and YOINK! All done and ready for printing. I did not choose to install the HP software that came with the printer -- Vista figure...

Efficient and excellent machine for wireless printing!
The wireless setup was reasonably easy if one is patient and follows the instructions. I am using it with my HP computer running Vista Home Premium and I have an older Linksys router. Consequently I had to use an ethernet cable just to do the initial setup but then once the setup was completed the cable could be removed and the unit is now working wirelessly.
