This TV is Simply Outstanding!
After shopping online and in retail 'big box' stores for over 6 weeks, I decided to make the plunge and purchase the Philips 47" LCD 1080p HDTV with Ambilight Technology - and I can honestly say this is the most amazing TV I have ever owned. Best TV for under $2000
After having a very bad experience with a Sharp 46 LCD 1080p. I am finally satisfied with this Gem of a TV. Bright Sharp picture and great viewing range for an LCD, Sound is only so so but I did not buy a TV for its sound quaility, I have nice surround system for that. 3 HDMI 1080p inputs and ambient lighting, which adjusts and compliments the colors on the screen. This feature works best when the unit mounted on a white wall with the lights off.
I Purchased this TV at Best Buy for $1969....

Very Thoughtful Audio Design Makes Philips The Winner
I am 69 years old live in a Senior Residence, not assisted living, and have a moderate to severe hearing loss. In order not to disturb my neighbors I use AKG-K701 headphones to hear the TV. Great TV!
This LCD is just a beauty. Its stylish look and glossy frame is just elegant. Will look great in any living-room. The anti-glare works great, considering the amount of light that comes into the room, no reflection of objects, walls, windows, or people.

GREAT TV
This tv is great! Ive owned a 42" plasma and trust me the difference in just how much heat my plasma put off compared to this is a god send. It has a great picture, the best non HD picture ive seen for a HD LCD TV. The pic is better then any other tv ive owned. I own A playstation 3 and xbox 360 elite. Philips 47pfl7432 is Incredible!
All I can say that after a few months of searching I decided to buy the Philips 47PFL7432D and I am so glad that I did. The overall quality is incredible. WARNING to all who may buy this HDTV...
I shopped for months looking for the best feature set, quality, and look for the price - and this is the set I ended up with. Two months later, I still love this TV. The picture is fantastic and X-Box 1080p HD looks completely mindblowing. I still only have a Samsung upconverting DVD player, but even those movies/shows on DVD look fantastic.
Also, the Ambilight and swivel base give this set a cool and functional edge over other units costing much more.

Love this TV!
This is a great addition to our home. It has really changed the way we watch movies. We already had a surround sound system, but we were missing the fantastic screen. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to watch movies or sports.

Very Pleased and Very Dissapointed
I purchased this unit with a bit of apprehension. My apprehension was based on the relative small amount of information available on the Philips brand hd tv's. Long story short: Shortly after installing unit and getting cable cards configured on my TIVO unit I noticed that audio would drop when switching between high definition programing and standard definition programming.
